trying to score a 1.0 or 1.5tb sata300 hard drive.

found some OEM stuff online for like 89 shipped (1.0) and 119 (1.5)

thinking 1.0 would be better, i hear tales of my computer not liking 1.0+

anyways what are some sites like slickdeals etc etc to look for something like that

you can tell i dont buy much stuff online

how is OEM stuff today compared to the OEM stuff you used to get in stores... im assuming i need to hit up the cable section and maybe even have some drivers and firmware patches ready?

Hard drives don't really require special drivers, and you might have the leads you need already in your computer.

well yeah, i was referring more to this particular series of motherboards that has a freezing problem on RAID arrays and dual drives. some kind of firmware update, not an xp/vista driver etc.

and i actually dont have any spare SATA cable in there, i thought i did... might have lost it. but its only a few bucks anyways.

yeah, you'd think i'd have one or 2 extras in the accessory kit. the computer was built to be a beast, but no cords. plenty of power, though, which is good. i've also got a ton of cords waiting to go to synergy... but i'd hate to gank one and get in trouble or fired for taking something free

i forgot about rebates, i'll check into those too. hell, as long as the base price is the same, there's not much to lose

thanks
