The "it's OK to be fat" mentalityThe desire to take the easy way out all the timeThe "everyone is a winner" trend in child rearing The fact that most people are fiscally retarded and yet they'll probably end up better off than the people who aren't in the end

8/21/2009 7:50:47 PM
nah, kids have been universally lazier than their parent generation since the beginning of time. i'm willing to let that one go.
8/21/2009 7:52:52 PM
but American kids are lazier than kids from other countries

Naps have actually been proven to increase employee productivity through many extensive studies. It is a practice that is a norm in Japan as well.
8/21/2009 8:10:47 PM

oh i see it all the time. the interns i managed this year were the worst yet. we pay them outrageously.. actually pay them the equivalent of a full time engineers AND we comp part of their housing/rent for the summer. but they still managed to bitch about how the company wasn't paying "enough" or how we didn't arrange enough "activities" for themsee similar in our peer recognition award program for full time employees. we have quarterly "ceremonies" where people can nominate their peers for going above and beyond. every time i come out of there, i think to myself... "that wasn't above and beyond... that was their damn job." and of course you hear people complaing that they didn't receive one too. OH the horror![Edited on August 21, 2009 at 8:29 PM. Reason : erm]
