maybe all carbs have plastic pieces, i don't know...in any case, the carb on my scoot has plastic floats, but since it's out anyway (replacing the main jet), i figured i'd clean it
carb cleaner is less caustic, but brakes cleaner evaporates faster...neither is supposed to be used on plastic or rubber (supposedly)...suggestions? 8/21/2009 7:17:04 PM |

carb cleaner is fine. The ONLY brake cleaners I use consist of heptane and isopropyl alcohol. Advance Auto's Wearever Gold brand fits the bill. So does Zep if you can find it. I can't stand those chlorinated solvent types, which are 99% of what's on the market. 8/22/2009 1:11:33 AM |
