Bomani was interviewing doyel and somehow or another doyel brought up Herb and how we chased him off or something by being to greedy. Something along those lines.
Anyway, Bomani cut him off after like 30 seconds of talking about Herb and said "Gregg, this aint your fault cause you probably didn't know, but we don't let anyone talk about or mention Herb Sendek's name on the program so I'ma have to let you go"

Just read part of his article (trolling Florida fans) and discussed whether Tebow should play.
http://www.cbssports.com/columns/story/12284407 <- don't click
Quote : | " Tim Tebow's scrambled brain will provide a window into Florida coach Urban Meyer's competitive soul.
The No. 1 Gators are off this week in the wake of the nasty concussion that sent Tebow to the hospital Saturday at Kentucky, but next week they play at No. 4 LSU -- a game that will shape the national title picture.
Which means Meyer faces a once-in-a-lifetime choice:
He can do the right thing for his team, his career, his legacy and his future earnings. He can play Tebow against LSU.
Or he can put the interests of Tebow ahead of all those things. Meyer can tell him it's too soon to play after suffering one of the more disturbing football concussions in years.
We'll learn about Meyer by learning how he goes about making this decision. Does he listen to the UF medical staff, who will be making nothing more than an educated guess when they most likely clear Tebow to play? Or does he listen to Tebow, who will surely want to get back onto the field whether he's ready or not? Or does Meyer listen to that little voice inside his own soul?
And what will that voice inside Meyer's soul say?
We're going to learn about Urban Meyer, all right.
You can guess what I think Meyer ought to do. I think he ought to prepare sophomore John Brantley to start. Because Tim Tebow can't play against LSU. Not so soon after that horrific collision.
You can go to Google and find a medical study that says Tebow can play after two weeks, but to come to that conclusion you'll have to ignore all the studies that say Tebow shouldn't play. See, medical experts can't agree on this topic, which means it's a judgment call -- which means we're going to learn a lot about Urban Meyer's value system. On the one hand, there's the national championship. On the other, there's Tim Tebow's future. " |

i think tebow can play. maybe he'll get another concussion and die, but that might happen in 8 years too. i've had a concussion (it was a baseball hitting me in the face, and i wasn't puking immediately after, so i'm sure his was worse) and i pitched 7 innings the next night, on like 14 advil with my head hurting every pitch.. i shouldn't have probably, and yeah i'm most likely not gonna get hit again, but there's no reason to think he's gonna feel anything of it 2 weeks after
oh, and i dunno who greg doyel is.. 9/30/2009 5:49:32 PM |

He was puking before the game also because of a respiratory illness, so the concussion might not be the sole reason for the puking. 9/30/2009 6:11:22 PM |

^I'd say that's a stretch. Regardless, I think he will play a full game vs. LSU. Having not had a concussion before, he should be ready to go. 9/30/2009 6:32:09 PM |

in a way I am glad Tebow got hurt. Nothing against him, but one of the cons of Meyer's offense is that it exposes the QB to a LOT more hits than most other systems but that hasnt really been a problem because of Tebow being a god damn tank. So not glad he is hurt persay but it does finally show that the spread option isnt without drawbacks. 9/30/2009 8:16:09 PM |

Yeah, except he got a concussion on a sack when he had dropped back to pass. Not diving into the line for a touchdown/first down.10/1/2009 12:40:53 AM |

I knew some stupid son of a bitch would say something like that... I fucking knew it. He didnt drop back, he was in the shotgun (formation used in the spread option) with no RB back to possibly pick up the blitz, which occurs a lot in the spread option (usually because of the nature of the possible option hand off, but in this case because of an empty backfield) 10/1/2009 12:52:34 AM |

The shotgun is used a lot in many offenses. 10/1/2009 1:06:48 AM |

really? never knew that.
god dammit people, unless Tebow made up the play out of the blue, it was a play that is part of Meyer's system by definition. A player in that system got hurt. It happened to occur on a play that is also used in some other systems, but not all, but it easily could have occurred on many other plays that were more "unique" to the spread option but to this point it hasn't, mainly due to Tebow being a beast, but also a fair amount of luck.

What the hell system doesn't ever use the shotgun? 10/1/2009 1:26:16 AM |
Jaybee1200 Suspended 56200 Posts user info edit post |
sigh. Not the shotgun itself being that rare, but the shotgun with an empty backfield (not counting hail mary plays of course). The whole point is his system puts the QB in a position to get hit a lot more than almost every single other system out there today aside from the few teams that run the true option. When Meyer moved to the SEC the only question about his system working was could the QB take the punishment. Up to this point it hadnt been a problem, once again mainly due to Tebow being as big as a linebacker and a tough son of a bitch... 10/1/2009 1:53:01 AM |

It's not widespread, but seems to be becoming more common, even in the pros, when a team has a good line and talented receivers (See 2007 patriots). 10/1/2009 2:02:22 AM |

Was gonna say the same thing. Funny as hell to see JB100 trying to defend what he said. Like no RB shotgun sets are unique to the spread or something. And after 3.25 years of football he goes virtually injury free and you somehow think that is a weakness of the spread? Rofl.10/1/2009 8:51:47 AM |

The SEC is tuff. I don't really see how any RB or QB makes it through a season there. Better than the NFL, those defenses.
