Avocado is high cal but it has mono-unsaturated fats, which are great for your heart. it's a "power food".

Egg
Bacon
Lettuce
Mayo

When I make sandwiches like that, I go for spinach/dark green or red leaves, hummus or avocado for lubrication/moistness, and never without sliced tomato and onion.

ok, I'll admit

I don't usually hear the word 'lubrication' when talking about food. Usually only hear it when discussing cars, or sex.

Actually, yes, avocado is a nice healthy sub for mayo.

Or, make your own healthy mayo using egg and olive oil. It's the bomb. The store-bought mayo is nowhere near as good or as healthy as it could be.

Sorry, but I'm a food nerd. Most people don't make their own mayo.

I hate store mayo. But fresh mayo is a-mayo-zing!

Here's a good, basic recipe for homemade mayo:
http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Homemade-Mayonnaise-241868

If you like the taste of olive oil, then sub the canola oil with olive oil.

I've been recently subbing avocado for mayo as well. Tuna-guac sandwich is fucking money.

The best sammich I've ever had was from a place in Austin called Thundercloud. Roast Beef, lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, provolone, and avacado. Shit was baller.

I use avacado spread on sandwiches at home every now and again. It is incredible.
