I am trimming my iTunes library, getting rid of duplicate tracks, fixing naming irregularities, and finding cover art for everything.45,000 tracks starting NOW.

I would do that... but 73,324 songs would take too long

i have a bunch of shit that never got ripped when i had my old powerbook because it only had an 80 GB hard drivei suppose now would be a good time for a few hundred more CDs and LPs

got any Brak? Space Ghost?
8/29/2009 5:17:16 PM
I always fix name irregularities as soon as I put them in iTunes, much easier that way
8/29/2009 5:18:12 PM
^ But a lot of times they look exactly the same, and it's not until I put them in my iPod and look for them that I realize it's filed them differently.

yea, I always use mp3tag on any music acquired beforehand.

8/29/2009 6:21:27 PM
^^ what are you talking about, man?
8/30/2009 2:42:02 AM
i did this once before when i had ~4000 tracks and thought that was a lot...
8/30/2009 2:43:45 AM

Why the hell would I pay someone else for this?
8/30/2009 11:34:45 AM
Because it is one of the best downloads available for anyone with a substantial amount of music? Because it will save you time and effort? Because it does a damned good job? Because it is cheap?http://www.tuneupmedia.com/I've talked to several people who are more than just casual computer users/music listeners, and every single one of them swears by it. But hey, fuck my suggestion.

I mean, I can see why someone without time or inclination would use it, but I have plenty of both.

Must be nice. Personally, I'd rather keep that several hours of my life and shell out 20 bucks for it to be done for me.[Edited on August 30, 2009 at 11:43 AM. Reason : Different strokes.]

Also, I have a bunch of quirks with my organization system that I don't want erased. For example, everything I've seen suggests that my way of labeling the SCORE! compilations is wrong, but I don't care.

i just keep my music in folders, so i have no idea how many songs/artists/albums i have total. but i think i could give tuneup quite the workout.
