8/30/2009 12:55:47 AM
[No]
8/30/2009 12:56:38 AM
8/30/2009 12:59:36 AM
yes but brush up on your privacy controls (you can sort of "provision" users) and make him have limited accsss.
8/30/2009 1:00:21 AM
you gon get [butt]raped
8/30/2009 1:19:53 AM
Don't do it dude.Heard too many horror stories. Then again, it might get you in with the boss if he really views you as a potential good friend.
8/30/2009 1:48:02 AM
make a separate group with different permissions for co-workers.
8/30/2009 9:48:03 AM
just ignore it, usually when i add someone i forget about it 10 seconds later, then am just sorta like "oh yea" when i see them in the news feed
8/30/2009 9:50:24 AM
do not do anything with it, just leave it up there you can accept it later if you want to
8/30/2009 10:02:44 AM
add him/her and then drop him/her. he/she will see you added them, but not see you dropped them. problem solved.
8/30/2009 10:06:26 AM
lots of useful stuff here.
8/30/2009 10:13:08 AM
Just add them. Who cares. I'm friends with the partners at my firm, and 90% of my pics are of me drunk as shit. I'm still employed.
8/30/2009 12:07:23 PM
dont put shit on facebook that you dont want the whole world to know. settings be damned, ain't nothing ever private on the interwebs.that said, i wouldn't want my boss to know i was posting on FB during work hours.
8/30/2009 12:42:36 PM
my work just got in on this whole facebook/blog/twitter crap, and ive been getting emails to link uptaking the idea from a friend who is a local tv news kind of dude, im setting up a sanitized page thats different than my real page for this purpose. theres nothing terrible on mine, but i dont like people knowing toooooo much about me. misdirection can only take you so far
8/30/2009 5:30:17 PM
8/30/2009 5:34:11 PM
i'm so internet hardcare i added my boss first!
8/30/2009 6:06:18 PM
no, no, no, no... this can only end badly. two possible lies... 1. say that you really don't do fb that much anymore, or 2. pretend you didn't get the invite. if he asks, act stupid, shrug, and say, "what? i never got your invite..."tho jackleg's option of setting up a separate page is def doable
8/30/2009 6:09:40 PM
actually, this boss is kinda cool. He posts on TWW every now and then and is always askin me about shit on here.
8/30/2009 6:10:11 PM
DON'T DO IT. fight this trend for as long as possible. something tells me it's only a matter of time before companies expect you to be networked with them on facebook, so then we're all going to have having two profiles or something. it wears me out just to think about those days ahead
8/30/2009 7:25:05 PM
[Maybe]
8/30/2009 7:27:37 PM
Yep facebook is my social network, that means as a rule no family and no coworkers unless I am friends with them in a separate social setting
8/30/2009 11:47:52 PM
bye bye, job
8/31/2009 12:31:03 AM

8/31/2009 2:49:23 AM
I'm friends with my boss on my FB...then again i'm pretty good friends with my boss. I don't have anything to hide.

9/1/2009 1:54:49 AM
1) Don't accept.2) If he calls you out, say you don't use facebook anymore.3) Profit.
9/1/2009 1:56:28 AM
dangerous to say you "don't facebook" any more.problem is, he may be friends of your friends, and can see any comments you might make on other people's walls, or may over hear a conversation, or may see your screen in passing... any number of ways to catch your lie.you can run, but you can't hide. saying you forgot will only work so long.the only solution is that i just don't put up anything i wouldn't want the world to see.
9/1/2009 2:03:47 AM
Fuck that. Scorched Earth Policy, son. Obliterate any evidence that you use the site any more. Start again later. It's worked for several acquaintances.
9/1/2009 2:10:15 AM
well, that would work. i think about doing that myself, often.
9/1/2009 1:19:59 PM
9/1/2009 8:57:07 PM
any number of professional jobs, dude. once you quit serving tables, you'll see what i mean.
9/1/2009 10:09:00 PM
turn that shit around on him and add his as a LinkedIn contact, if he has it
9/1/2009 10:20:59 PM
