Full Tube backhalf and cage rework; everything from the firewall back and floorboard up is getting replaced (except for rear axle) with tubework from the boys at Fairview Fab (the guys formerly known as Willow Street Fab).

After the rear build, the front end will be reworked - narrowed front profile, new tubework (tucked tight) and long-arm converted.

It was sloppy out that day.

I think this happened after that video and from there it hasn't changed too much, at least not enough to notice except a lot more black spray paint.

yeah, for real. i've seen conditions deteriorate in a real hurry on the trail before, especially at tellico, but that day might top them all in how fast it happened.

^will do. we usually post up about most trips. i'd like to go somewhere before i gets cold again.

Update time. I think Hurley and I have spent 2 or 3 full days working on this thing since the last pictures.

Started by plating the frame rails with 3.5" angle, and more 1/4" plate on the inside, after this was taken. Notice the nuts welded inside, these are some of the nuts used to hold the rear link crossmember in.

Link crossmember, attached to the bottom and sides of framerails, also sits flush with bottom of frame. Originally I had planned for it to go below, but changed my mind.

Tabs for rear lowers and the start of the upper link mounts on axle. Lowers sit at the centerline of the axle tube.

Sleeved lower link material. All joints are ballistic joints, 3" wide with 3/4" bolts.

Lowers in, rear upper joint slid in place. This one is threaded to adjust pinion angle, lowers are fixed.

Links in, tacked in place. I am worried that when it flexes, the lowers could come in contact with the uppers? Joey doesn't think they will hit. I hope to flex it out in the next couple days to see. If so i will have to redo the uppers to make some more room.

There will be more bracing added in the upper link, once I am sure everything will clear.

I am glad i did the links like this. With a flat belly i will slide right off and onto my links, nothing will be hanging down at all. This is around 2" over ride height, i think.

When it flexes, The joint body should only move about ~1/4" in relation to the box it is sitting in. There is more clearance than it looks like in the pictures. Hope it works!
