Quote :
"Around six to ten thousand years ago, the OCA2 gene in a human's chromosomes mutated. This mutation resulted in the turning off of the what allows humans to have brown eyes. As the blue-eyed trait is a recessive gene from only one person, it took a couple of generations for it to actually show up physically. The first "mutated" person would have still had brown eyes. Their offspring would still have brown eyes. But when two of the offspring (say biological cousins, generations later) reproduced, the two of them would allow the recessive blue gene to come forward in their offspring.

So essentially all blue-eyed people are indirectly inbred. You can thank the Danes for this interesting research. "

I'm pretty sure inbreeding was not a very well understood phenomenon six to ten thousand years ago.

Something tells me this isn't limited to those of us with blue eyes. Probably just a prime example of haters hating.

If I had a hot step sister, she would get it. Blue eyes or not.

Having sex with your step sister while weird/wrong espically if you grew up together, is not by definition imbreding.

and that's your most insightful conclusion from reading this article?

news flash for ya, twinkle: you've got first cousins breeding in your ancestral gene pool within at least 4 or 5 generations. you don't need to go back 10K years.

for another thing, the blue eye inheritance is still polygenic. it doesnt require inbreeding.

100s of millions of people in several continents and cultures still marry first cousins and don't see anything wrong with it.

Culturally biased definitions FTW.

So if my cousin marries a girl, and her cousin is smoking hot and wants the business, that's ok?
