is this a dwarf or a siberian? i had a siberian!

he liked to make a nest in the top box, so he'd drag stuff up there and id throw shavings in to save him the trouble. thats where hed usually sleep and stuff. had the same cage thing and all...after a while the poop/pee/fur mixture cakes up in the pipe cracks...ew! but cute!!

2 years is about the maximum lifespan for these things.

And that mother fucker is going to escape like 5 times a week.

His mom and dad's names are Pete & Pete.

That made more sense when they were both dudes.

you're going to want to put some kind of hook on that front door, like a bent paper clip or something. my hamster figured out how to open it within a week

Y'all have some impressive hamsters. Mine have never chewed through plastic (they chew on the bars but that doesn't do anything). They have never escaped either.

Hamsters are assholes. Without exception. They are aggressive and bitey and overall inferior to properly-maintained gerbils or pretty much any rats.

In the recognition of full disclosure, a hamster once cost me about a pint of blood.

oh my fucking god

my dumbass meredith broad neighbor got me to take him out. ok fine. i give him to her and she doesnt even keep him in her hand, she puts it on her pants. it immediately bolts. i try to get him but he gets out of my grasp. immediately look under the futon and hes vanished. now i cant find him. she helped me look but now has to go to the doctor. and the screen door was cracked like an inch where it can't shut all the way. so now i'm wondering if looking is fruitless because he got outside and lost or if hes still in the apt...

put grapes in the middle of the room. Those fuckers love grapes. Wait. Profit.

Or you can get a really small Hav-A-Hart trap and stock it with similar fresh edibles.

that thing looks tasty. i would gut it then hang it about 10 inches above a small campfire. after getting all the meat i would put the bones in a metal coffee can on the coals and eat them in the morning for the calcium

there was only like a 2 second gap from me losing my grasp to checking under the futon...hes fast but i mean theres only so far he coulda gone. i hope hes still inside but part of me is thinking if he went straight to the door where the crack is he is outside. if hes outside would he stay close or bon voyage?

When my siblings and I had hamsters as kids and they got away they were usually just hiding in a corner, or behind the fridge or someplace like that, bmel is probably right.

My sister had a gerbil that one time ate through its feeder and escaped. Our cats cornered it behind a cabinet in the dining room and we were able to scoop it up. The Havahart mouse and chipmunk trap looks to be a good solution for under $20:
