...what features would you like it to have? use your imagination.

so far, i've got:

  • scheduling stuff (at least view schedule, maybe registration stuff too)

  • allcampus account management (add money, view transactions, meal points, etc.)

  • wolfline stuff (route planning via gps, realtime map, lots of other stuff)

(disclaimer: i'm not saying there is/will be - that's screwed me over too much in the past. i'm just soliciting ideas.)

^hence the disclaimer. i have a feeling that if i ever put tww radio back up, only 4-5 people would ever listen.

i figured as much. it's 3am, i'm tired, haha.

based solely on the sheer quantity of iphones/ipod touches i see on campus, i could see something like this being fairly useful.

The Wolfline thing would be pretty kickass, especially if it were like the buses in Seattle where you can watch the bus move along its route on the map.

How about one that alerts you when one of the study rooms in the stacks is empty

hahaha, that could prove to be a bit difficult based on actual occupancy.

it would be easy, however, to pull from this:
http://www.lib.ncsu.edu/roomreservations/schedule.php?date=09-02-2009&scheduleid=sc146bb7ad6c7e1f

to tell you when blocks are open... could even have a scheduling component.

What about books necessary for certain classes? Just reserve a copy and buy it when you get there.

I always bought them at the bookstore because I was too lazy to look for them online. This also assumed I bought the book in the first place and didn't bum it off a friend.

Yeah a scheduling thing for the stacks would be pretty sweet.

ticket lottery would open up a whole other can of worms... i'm not gonna go near that one

technician is a pretty good idea... would be fairly easy considering they provide an RSS feed...

I take it you've already shelled out the $100 for a key or SAS is paying for it, so awesome! Assuming you can get university clearance for this app, I would like to see: Grade Distribution Reports, but prettier than the ones online, a textbook exchange, the online college Risk thing, campus events schedule (maybe specific to the person: sports games, music events, Scholars forums, etc.), and maybe local night life, but I feel this should be NC State exclusive.

Anyway, if you have spare time (and legal clearance from NCSU), go for it! And I have another thing to add to the list of "Why I Want to Be Evan".

TWW radio streamed through the NCSU iPhone app?

along with mobile-friendly TWW browser.

That'd be the key right there to get new users

^^this is why we can't have nice things.

you guys don't think TWW works ok in mobile safari as is?

grade distribution: i'm not sure if many people would want to use their phone to actually register/look for classes to register in. i was mainly going for quick changes, like dropping a class or changing to credit/audit, etc.

textbook exchange: again, this seems a bit tedious on a phone although i think it could be useful to have something that tells you the required/optional books for all the classes on your schedule and maybe a quick price lookup on amazon/half.com to see if you're getting screwed (yes) at the bookstore...

the risk thing: oh lawd, that would take a lot of work.

events schedule: could work if there is some place that already aggregates these events into a page or something.

professor salaries: easy to do, but i don't think it would get used enough to justify its inclusion/i think a few professors would be a bit ticked off.

haha I wasn't thinking anything crazy. Just what they have already in an app form. Or even just a way to check to see if you got tickets. But I guess that's what the browser is for

if there happened to be an NCSU iphone app...

It would come in with great fanfare but sorely disappoint during basketball season.
