according to the mitsubishi website, spencer is the closest city (100 miles)...kannapolis is the closest i've HEARD of (110 miles)

according to wikipedia, laser tv's are "half the weight and cost of plasma displays"...does that mean that i can get a 42" (biggest i can have in my entertainment center) for $400?

from what i've heard they come pretty close to matching the pq of the pioneer kuro(generally considered best flat panel tv). I think they start at 65 inches or so. they do weigh considerably less than plasmas but that's no surprise glass and metal vs. all plastic. as fa as energy they are about the same as current generation plasmas since most plasma makers have made leaps and bounds in terms of power usage. these tvs are not cheap though the lowest price i've seen on the smallest one was about 5k which could buy you a pair of samsung 58" plasmas. all things considered i'd skip the laser tv and get a plasma.

They are projection TVs and don’t necessarily compete directly with plasmas. They also aren’t going to have as good a viewing angle as a plasma.

I've seen these on numerous occasions at CEDIA and CES, and it's hands down the most gorgeous TV I've seen. Obviously I've seen everything Pioneer, LG, Samsung, Sony and the rest had to offer at these same shows, and Mitsu's Laser TV bested them all. Not even close.

They cost a fortune, but if you've got the coin you won't find a more beautiful picture.
