I recently graduated from NCSU in December 2007. Going into my 2nd year at a big 4 accounting firm and thinking about going back to school to get my MBA. I haven't taken the GMAT yet but plan to at the first of the year or before Christmas sometime. Anyway, what are some of the profiles of people that have gotten into NCSU MBA program or other school in NC? I have looked at the websites for UNC/NCSU/UNNC/WAKE/DUKE. The only ones I might have chance at are NCSU/UNC-given a solid GMAT and UNCC. But what GPA/GMAT/work experiance have most of you had when you were accepted? Thanks for the help and any suggestions you may have on reviews would be great.

I have searched and looked at older posts and there is good information but not good profile statistics.

Your recommendations are going to be critical when it comes to your application. Your numbers are going to help, but your recommendations are going to make one candidate with less than perfect marks standout above another with slighter high marks. Make sure you have your recommendations in order once your GMAT is knocked out. It also depends on the specific program you are enrolling in as to the "profile" of that group.

Also, are you planning on going back full time, part time, or a doing a dual full-time work / school combination? That will affect with programs you are applying for and their typical profiles. Case in point, Virginia Tech MBA program averaged 2-4 years work experience and placed more emphasis on numbers, whereas the PMBA program designed for working professionals averaged 8-12 years work experience and focused more on what you could bring to the table / classroom experience.

I plan on doing the full-time program. When I am ready to enroll I will have 3 years of work experiance. Hopefully that will help. I have heard from a few people about the recommendations being very important. Thanks for your insight.

UNC is a top-tier school, i think you'll prolly have a hard time getting in with only 3 years experience unless you're bringing something else to the table
