i always felt like the characters on the original melrose place were a lot older than traditional dramas...like in their late 20's early 30's. Or was i just very young when the original version ran new? This group can't be any older than 22-23, so it'll be interesting to see if they bring on some of the much more mature storylines the original cast faced.

i watched it while waiting on Sons of Anarchy. It was cool seeing the old set, i'm wondering if it was the old set or completely recreated. I'll tune in for a couple weeks solely because of Ella. That and I want to see if Max from Greek can play any other role besides the good-hearted nice guy.

ok so i watched this thing again last night...I've done a complete 180 on Ella, i don't find her nearly as attractive as I did the first week.

And is it just me or does Ashley Simpson seem like a robot? All of her lines and dialog come with this pause of silence that just feels too long for a normal human. It's like her processor is lagging and her responses are delayed. She just feels....creepy.

Anyway, I dont know who killed her...and that's about the only storyline keeping me watching. The blonde guy is a thief, big whoop he's completely boring. The doctor is becoming an escort, okayyyy, Ella has a new boss and is she an agent or a publicist because i think the writers are getting these jobs a little mixed up. The only real story line not related to the murder i care about is between Jonah and Riley because they are a cool couple but you can see them being ripped apart right in front of you and it sucks. Reminds me of the Billy/Allison deal on the original.

Hadn't really noticed about Ashlee...she really hasn't had enough screen time yet IMO. She is definitely creepy though.

Auggie, Lauren and Ella are my favorites atm...

the auggie/riley thing was apparent last week. I knew someone would come between her and Jonah quickly. I sense you'll see Jonah/Elle hookup after he's crushed by finding Auggie/Riley red-handed.

I still don't know who killed Sydney, but I can't see them taking the Michael Mancini character that direction, he did a lot of fucked up shit in the original but i dont think murder would be like him.

ya know...i really really want to like this show b/c of the first one, but it's kinda dragging for me. i'm not giving up on it yet though. same thing happened with the beginning of 90210 for me last year...i really liked it, then i was just meh, but then it got good. so here's hoping

lauren's story so far is more interesting to me than the rest

and yes, violet is creepy...and at first i was giving ashlee simpson benefit of the doubt that it was her lack of lines that was making her flat. but no, she's just flat...and a terrible runner.

I hate hte way that the previews for last night's episode looked like Riley and Auggie kissed again...oh well still a lot of drama now between Riley/Auggie/Jonah and Violet, if she ever finds out that Riley kissed Auggie.

Auggie's the only one I'm sorry that's getting the boot...he's nice to look at, and assuming he isn't the murderer could stick around for interesting stories. Ashlee Simpson is terrible; I tried to give her benefit of the doubt in the beginning since she didn't have many lines...but she's really just that terrible.

Any thoughts on who the murderer really is?

I really thought it was Auggie b/c remember in the first episode it ended with Auggie burning a bunch of clothes...and then they found the murder weapon and it had his fingerprints all over it


I think they all in some way had something to do with the murder.

i still think it was Ella, but i know she is the leading lady so it's kind of hard for her to be the main star and garner a lot of fan support when she's a murderer too so i think they'll go in another direction.

it'll probably be something like david was choking her, auggie rushes in and stabs her, she runs out of the apartment to get help and ella pushes her in the pool and drowns her...some kind of roundabout shit like that

Sydney's killer was revealed as Dr. Mancini's wife...wasn't expecting that at all. Then she got strangled to death/drowned by Violet.

Wonder if they will get new characters to replace Auggie and Violet. Kind of weak to have them "ride off together". They needed to go out with a bang.


Kind of weirded out by the Jonah/Ella relationship. And the whole David/Lauren relationship can't end well once he finds out that she's a hooker (a high-priced hooker but a hooker nonetheless)
