I need a small device to grab media from the web and display it on a tv. The device must be able to either play back a live video or support a tv tuner. The display will be broken up into quadrants, 1 with tv, 1 with RSS, and 2 with a powerpoint/browser object, basically a content portal. I don't need this to be interactive at all.

The devices I have identified for the task are a roku ( http://www.roku.com ) with custom code, a hacked original xbox running busybox or some other kind of linux, a 7" netbook. The most important things are cost, size, power consumption in that order. Assume anything I and you will suggest has enough power to play back said content.

Any one have some suggestions for hardware I'm missing? complete devices are the goal here but if I could have a set of whiteboxes built to the task, that would work too.
