Should I buy a trip for me and my dad to go to new Zealand, something he's always wanted to do and never had the opportunity? it's going to cost me about 3K, which is probably more then I should be spending, but not going to put me on the streets. Also, will my mom get mad?

If you can afford it, have the time, and it'll make him happy, why not?

You'll just need to do something nice for mom though.

Haha, I didn't see 'talk me out of this' anywhere.

Life's too short for that, if you have good reasons to do things, do it.

These are tough economic times. As soon as you spend that money, something terrible will probably happen and you will find yourself in the position where a drained bank account and no financial cushion will be your downfall. You may get into a car accident and have your car totaled or you just might wind up in the hospital with a broken leg and not have the money to pay your bills. Either way, it is certain that you will fall deeper and deeper into debt and soon turn to drugs as a way to cope with the depression. Every time that needle slides into your arm, you'll feel a bit of relief, but eventually even that will be taken away as you have sold all your possessions on Craigslist and will be forced to start whoring yourself out for money. One day, eight months from now, when you find yourself in a dark and musty motel room with an overweight 48 year old businessman's cock in your mouth, you'll wonder how you ever wound up in this position. You'll have forgotten where you came from, all your old friends, and the life you once had. You'll certainly be numb to the embarrassment of your new profession by this point, but you'd do anything necessary to feel it that cold sting in your arm followed by that short-lived rush of bliss...

all because you tried to do something nice for your dad.

If you were a GOOD SON, you would buy tickets for both of your parents and keep your ass at home.
