Antichrist is a 2009 horror film written and directed by Lars von Trier, about a couple who, after unfortunate accident, retreat to a cabin in the woods where they encounter strange and terrifying occurrences.






The film premiered during the Competition portion of the 2009 Cannes Film Festival to a mixed response from the audience. At least four people fainted during the preview.

I just finished. Quite near the top of the most unsettling films I've seen, but it's a masterpiece.

^^ something about a couple ("He" and "She") whose baby dies by falling out a window, then they retreat into the woods, then..... fucked up shit happens. I think the couple is symbolic of Adam and Eve, and the baby dying is humankind's "fall from grace".

It already has American distribution, so it just comes down to when local theaters get around to playing it, if they are going to. Like I said, it's the sort of thing I'd love to play at Galaxy, but I bet we sold less than 100 tickets for the entire run of the last two Lars von Trier movies combined. Hopefully we'll have space for it in the next month or two, and hopefully it will be controversial enough to get some asses in seats.
