So...I am trying get rid of this pesky ass alarm system on my 99 sentra (Totally worth stealing, BTW). It was on the car when I bought it and it has been nothing but annoying as shit. It always sets itself automatically whenever you turn the ignition off, so I set it off on accident constantly. I'm finally determined enough to remove the fucker, but I don't know where to start. I've located the speaker, which was afro-engineered to the firewall. There are two wires coming from it that run through the firewall towards the fuse box, but I can find any fuses. Besides, removing that from the equation would simply disable the sound. The alarm would still "go off", disabling the ignition. So what's the best way to remove this thing so the car is back to stock? 9/24/2009 2:11:14 PM |

follow the speaker wire back to the brain, then undo where it was taped into and spliced in-line. 9/24/2009 3:19:17 PM |

I found the "brain", but there is an issue. There are three plugs. Removing plug 1 does nothing, as it just goes to the speaker. Removing plug two, which has a shit ton of wires(for all the sensors, I believe), kills the alarm, but also kills my ignition. Plug three, which is labeled ignition, consists of a red and white thick gauge wire the positive of my battery. Removing this plug also kills my ignition and my alarm. I want to rid myself of the alarm, but having the ability to start my car is pretty crucial, so it seems I'm a bit fucked. Do I manually need to cut a certain wire within one of the plugs? Perhaps there is a wire in plug 2 that is a sensor for my ignition. As in, it knows that turning my key=stealing the car. If such a wire exists, would cutting it just bypass that part? I just don't understand why this box is part of my ignition circuit. If I remove it, it seems like the OEM circuit would still be in place and the car would start since the alarm and sensor inputs would be totally absent...

When it kills your ignition, it is running through the brain. You need to follow those wires back to the loom and undo whatever was done. 9/29/2009 1:45:03 PM |

Follow MaximaDrvr's advice. Youre gonna have to trace wires out. That or pay someone to. 10/19/2009 11:48:10 PM |

should be one or two taps into the wiring for the disable, it will be the only stock wire cut in half that runs into and out of the aftermarket wiring, the rest you can just cut loose if its tapped 10/21/2009 1:05:17 PM |
