I've got to run some 10/2 wire underground and some CAT 5e. Do y'all know of any sites where these can be purchased cheaper than going to a local supplier?

For the heavier 10/2, local electrical suppliers might be able to get you something similar to what freight costs of something online would be.

If you put the cables inside pvc do you generally still want to use the outdoor rated stuff?

^^nah that's somewhat over kill. schedule 40 pvc and standard THHN copper or even 10/2 romex will be fine.

That may be your cheapest option. Some of the multiconductor wire, especially suitable for direct burial can be pricey and only comes in large footages.

you can usually get some pretty good rates on wire from McMaster Carr or Allied

1) make sure you bury the pvc at least 18 inches underground in accordance with NEC 300.5. A buddy of mine found out that his buried PVC was only buried about 6 inches across his yard and got torn up when he re-did his yard

2) what kind of load are you powering? #10 AWG isn't very big, so even if you don't find the absolute best price it still shouldn't be too expensive. You might also want to check out some of the direct burial romex, but personally i still prefer conduit

3) if running conduit, do you plan on putting the CAT5 and power cables in the same conduit?
