during the colder months, it's a Skinny Vanilla Latte.

during the warmer months, it's an Iced version of the above, or an Iced Passion Tea. or one of those yummy frappy things, nonfat with no whipped cream.

before i developed a taste for coffee/espresso, i always got the hot Caramel Apple Cider. once i developed a taste for coffee/espresso, i started getting the White Chocolate Mocha. then i discovered the Nutrition Facts page on the internet and that put an end to the White Chocolate Mochas

a macchiato is SUPPOSED to be a shot of espresso with a dollop of foam on top

Starbucks has a macchiato (the espresso shot w/ foam) and a caramel macchiato which is a caramel LATTE with whip cream and caramel drizzle on top.

I used to hate people who would come in when I worked in coffee shops and order a macchiato...expecting the starbucks version of a caramel macchiato.

^ I almost put that put didn't this guy came into the coffee shop I worked at and ordered a caramel macchiato.... so I made it the RIGHT way... he went to pick up his cop and felt how light it was and was like and asked where the rest of his drink was. I said, um that's it right there. He then told me, "Well that's not how Starbuck's makes it!!" and I said "Well, we're not Starbuck's."

so, a shot of espresso in steamed milk with a dollop of foam on top? that's a latte with foam, haha. why's it got such a fancy name?

ok so it's JUST a shot of espresso with a shit-ton of foam on top of it? how is that a drink? foam is like...foam.

^ a latte is supposed to have foam, it's just very little

a machiatto has much less to it and is hardly anything, really

Mine is 170 for a grande mocha w/ skim milk and no whip...and 60 calories for 1 pump of white mocha.

^^I'm all about supporting local. I used to work in a few different local coffee shops (cupajoe, royal bean, hammocks coffee)

But on my way to work, the only coffeeshop is Starbucks.

my skinny vanilla latte is only 130 calories, and that's the norm most of the year. if i get the iced passion tea, it's still under 150 calories.

sometimes i just want a 600 calorie drink though

If you get a skim version w/o whip cream, a medium (grande?) is only 260 cal and 5 g of fat...that's not toooo awful

the regular made way though is ridiculous

A mocha, or a frap. Chocolate mint mocha when they've got it.

Never just straight up coffee, that's why we have a french press.

I'm tempted to get something like this http://www.wholelattelove.com/Handpresso/handpressowild.cfm for my espresso needs and just cut coffee shops completely out of the equation.

Fuck yeah, Starbucks. I like the Caramel Macchiato or the Mint Double Chocolate Chip Mint WITH whipped cream, damn is that an only once in a long time sort of treat.

The coffee shop here I go for the Caramel Latte either hot or cold depending on my body temperature. I want a warm one right now.
