NC State band Inflowential has come out with a new music video entitled "Sheriff". For those of you that remember, last year, members of the wolf web helped vote Inflow to be crowned the top college music act in a national band search by MTV. How much local music do you support? Did any of you show up to the mixed solution album release a couple weeks back? Show any respect to dan for helping you master your one cd? How many balance shows have any of ya'll shown up for? By all means, look out for yourselves and do your thing, but don't spit that "support local music" bullshit.

oh boy.

ya know, I used to manage Inflow. they've work fucking HARD to get where they are. The Balance are contemporaries of theirs. Four and five years ago, when I booked an Inflow show, I booked The Balance to open for them at least 4 or 5 times. At first, they loved it. Over time, they grew massive egos (save for a couple of them whom I still love to this day), practically demanding they get top billing, when, all the while, Inflow still would compound their turnout by easily 6 or 7 times. After a while, The Balance grew EXPONENTIALLY bitter towards them, not vocally, but clearly via actions. I understand the Balance is doing its thing now, I fully support them for it. But don't come off like they're really willing to be part of some Triangle team of starving artists. They're every bit as self-preserving as any local act, and have more or less voiced that endeavor through years of action.

NOT TOOOO MENTIOONNNN

I've tried to book The Balance 3 times in the past 2 years at Ruckus, and aside from Jason and another guy whose name I can't recall, they've basically said "fuck off", and gone on to play quite similar venues for less money--if any. Two of those times, one person on behalf of The Balance has told me they will indeed play--one time setting a date--only to call me 8-10 days before the event to cancel, with very blurry reasons.

I really intended to not be disrespectful, because I like the Balance, and Jason is a friend of mine.

but there are some dudes--or at least one dude with some clout--in that group who have seen the Balance as rock stars for years now.

Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for inflow, been to a couple shows and enjoyed em, just from my understand of dealings with dan (djs from mixed solution), they haven't been too kosher. I don't know much at all about the balance, just that live did some tracks with mixed solution. I just assumed maybe someone from inflow would support MS at that release party, drawing about 150 to five star for their first show was pretty straight though.
