Last season ended on a low note...but this is definitely still a playoff team, quite possibly a division winner if they play well against the Devils. I doubt they will make the Cup, but I'm hopeful for a conference semi-finals appearance.

Or maybe I'm just being a homer...either way, go rangers.

This thread is relevant to my interests. It's going to be interesting to see how I deal with my Gaborik fanboyism now that he has come East and will face my team 4 times a year.

Who am I kidding. No way that guy plays in all 4 games.

Season kicks off tonight in Pittsburgh against the defending Cup Champs...great chance to make an early statement. ESPN ranks the Rangers at 22, but hopefully they can prove the analysts wrong.

alright I'll play....

With semenov unable to sign it will be interesting to see what sather does to fill that last spot on d. Yes, you could make a case for del zotto, especially with his improvement in the second game but I think letting him go back to juniors might be the best thing, especially since we would want to maximize his contract life in a salary cap world. I think we should put voros on waivers, and then throw a mil at a guy on re-entry waivers, most likely the high risk randy jones. I don't think anyone down in hartford would be best for the last spot on d.

prospal-gabby-dubie what a line. very dynamic and dubie is really coming into his own. I'm really excited to see him and cally breakout this season

kotalik- looks like a lazy piece of shit and can't hit the net for shit... I hope torts straightens him out

redden looks like he improved in the off-season although his twin rozival has been brutal these past two games. Giaradi needs to pick things up to.

Staal is solid as usual and I hope we can sign him this off-season

it should be exciting, depending how redden, rozy and our young defensemen hold up will be how the season goes. We have a lot of gritty and talented forwards who are willing to work and the best goalie in the league and I think we could potential surprise some teams come playoff time.

GO Rangers!

There is no greater injustice in this world than the fact that Voros is still a Ranger, while Betts, Orr, and Sjostrom are all gone.

I was at a bar in DC the other night watching the Rangers play the Capitals, it was a lot of fun to gloat with the one other Rangers fan in the place at the end.

I'm loving this line score:

FINAL-----1-2-3-T
Lightning-1-1-0-2
Rangers--3-2-3-8

We're 6th int he conference right now, pretty good considering how dominant the Atlantic division has been.

the rangers are playing some damn good hockey these days, only 2 points out of the playoffs as of today.

Our last 2 games are against the Flyers, they very well could be the most important two games of the season

A win leads to a rematch of last year's playoff series.

do you think the game will be on at ruckus? a slice, a beer, and a rangers win would make for a fantastic afternoon

I would think about it but I have plans near campus later, so I'd rather be near by

I will be at ruckus in a Rangers jersey at 3:00 if anyone wants to join me
