I've got a used 200GB internal hard drive up for sale, Seagate Barracuda SATA 7200.8.
Model# ST3200826AS S/N: 5NDOG7D0 P/N: 9Y7389-511 Firmware: 3.03
It's going to need to be reformatted, My PC wouldn't reboot properly and I had a feeling it was this hard drive, comes with the Signal Interface cable.
And if anyone can tell me how to delete it from my PC so that it stops recognizing it, that would be great. I removed it physically, but it tells me everytime I start up/reboot that the slave is missing and I have to hit F1 to "ok" this to reboot, thanks.

You should be able to go into the BIOS and possibly disable the slave drive. What model computer do you have? Is it a Dell? Sounds like a message it would say. But yeah just go into the setup (F2 more than likely), go down to where it shows your drives, and disable the SATA SLAVE drive. 10/11/2009 12:36:31 PM |

^Do I get a discount if I was right? From looking at the pic and the hard drive rails on it, I'm guessing Dell or IBM. 10/11/2009 12:37:48 PM |

Your problem is with Bios and possibly with how you connected the drive itself. Make sure you dont have a dual SATA controllers on your mobo.
That and they did away wtih secondary/slaves for sata.... 10/11/2009 5:00:06 PM |

^oh yeah hes right. In any case the SATA drive that is the 200GB of course in the BIOS. Depending on where you connected it would discern its allocated number. I'm guessing its "1" or "2".
(my offer stands to reformat it for you if you need me to!) $free 10/11/2009 9:50:06 PM |

my fault man, Fuzion has decided to help me out with reformatting, that seems to be the problem, nothing on that drive is something I can't get back with moving some things around. 10/14/2009 2:20:52 PM |
