For those who like a little bit of romantic drama, In Your Eyes is pretty good. Its a romantic paranormal written by Joss Whedon.

^^^I thought the trailer was meh. And Netflix agrees with a 1/5 star rating.

^ thanks, will consider...

any other suggestions are also much appreciated, esp from:

- mess-with-your-head type of movies (time loops, paradoxes, inexplicable happenings, etc)
- fighting for justice/human rights
- international

Ok...but why are you comparing an hour long scifi/horror/drama set in the 80s to a modern day set half hour network sitcom?

Maybe HOOPS is just referencing each show's depiction of Dungeons and Dragons? But I think we all know that Dan Harmon knows his way around some D&D. Harmonquest is funny but it's only on SeeSo.

Fastball was a good documentary.

There was also one about Irish Pubs that wasn't bad but it's definitely more historical than like celebrating drinking if that's what you're looking for.

The Big Short is now on Netflix and is excellent if you somehow missed it.

Yeah, don't get the comparison to Community, but I'm really enjoying Stranger Things. Has a lot of 80s nostalgia, feels from movies like ET, Goonies, Stand by Me, It, Gremlins, etc. etc. (there's a thread in the Entertainment section).

Pony stream on Hangouts is much better than Community also.

^^^^ Portlandia is better than all seasons of American horror story except for the one where they are at a witch academy.

^ god damn that looks good! up next on my list... thanks!

^^ that one looks freaky, will definitely watch, thanks! and it is never too late, as long as it is before the 25th of this month, when my free trial ends

Fastball has got my interest piqued. I have attended only one baseball game ever, and it was under a couple of months ago. Until then, I had a negative opinion of it, and couldn't care less about it (football and hockey in same category). But once I was watching it, I slowly got interested, and then my wife and I (she felt the same before the game as I did) started trying to figure out how the scoring works by matching specific happenings on the field with the changes on the scoreboard. We figured out most, and then asked the guy behind us for the rest. I got extremely excited when I realized the speed of the pitch was also showing, and was amazed by the maximum of 91 mph in that game (and was trying to calculate the acceleration in my head!). So, thanks for this, I will be sure to watch it!

Zero interest in drinking or pubs, so I will pass on that.

The Big Short looks like the type of movie I will enjoy, will watch that one too!

Thanks to those who suggested shows/series, but I can't get into any as I don't plan on continuing after my free trial ends on 7/25. Well, that's what I think right now.

^^ actually, i am not that smart. i have come across so many people in every course at every uni i have attended who are better at math than i am. but, i am very good at mental math and back-of-the-envelope estimations, and have not yet personally met anybody better.

^^^ it was a baseball stadium i was in, not a train station. anyway, i am a human, not a train. and why would you love to be near a train wreck???
