Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs.

The best animated film of 2009.

Maybe.

i have only seen trade. it is sad. but interesting.

netflix keeps recommending me to watch constant gardener. i heard its really good so maybe that one.

i also recently watched this documentary called 180 degrees south about this guy recreating this adventure to Patagonia. it wasn't the BEST thing i've ever seen but it held my interest.

I watched Constant Gardener and I really liked it, though it wasn't as fast paced as others I've watched in the genre. I'm hoping I can get a movie in tonight but I have to get prepared for my interview tomorrow so who knows...

i need to watch it. i also think rachel weisz is gorgeous (she is in that right?)

the motorcycle diaries is on instant watch. that is one of my favorite movies ever.

also.

i've never seen full metal jacket or the insider. are these worth watching? i feel like i really need to watch full metal jacket at least because everyone and their mom has seen that.

ok i think tonight i'm going to watch let the right one in. it is a swedish romantic and scary vampire movie ahaha (based on the description). it seems interesting. we'll see how this goes.

AHHHHH HOLY SHIT

i did not know this movie was SUPER scary the description is totally misleading

after watching the trailer i am NOT watching this on my own. i'm not good at modern horror movies alone. i will save this for the weekend to watch w/ my boo. or at least at my parent's house where i have safety in numbers.

let the right one in was OK at best. suspenseful in it's own way, but i wouldn't call it a horror movie.

yea i read that it wasn't gory or jump out of your seat scary. it got really good reviews so i was like "hey why not". then eric was like, i think that is supposed to be scary. so i started reading about it. i guess it is more of a thriller. but......i have a wild imagination and live alone so i need to watch really thrilling things when i have someone else to watch with. otherwise i will stay up all night convincing myself i'm about to be attacked by a serial killer.

fair enough.

it's definitely creepy. the kid (main character) is a weird dude. but i'd give it a shot when you're not alone. it's worth a watch.

What made you want to watch Battle of Algiers anyway? It just doesn't seem like the type of film you would want to watch.

you need to install Silverlight if your browser doesn't already have it. it should prompt you to install it if necessary. you can visit http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/ to install it too (it'll take like 20 seconds to install)

basically, it lets you see the entire netflix instant watch collection, and filter it down by several categories. ex

for example, want to see all movies this decade that have a user rating better than 3.5, sorted by when they came out?

http://netflixpivot.cloudapp.net/#Rating=GE.3.5&Year=GE.2000&%24view%24=2&%24facet0%24=Year/

[Edited on June 30, 2010 at 2:14 PM. Reason : i'll leave as an exercise for the reader to find all the NC-17 teen comedies, sorted by ranking]

i finished battle of algiers. def worth watching. esp if you are into ideological cinema and the kinda documentary-esque style. and it is crazy because yes, the film is over 40 years old, yes it is about the algerians trying to liberate themselves from the french...but all that aside, given the violence and the loss of human life (including regular people) and the torture and the damage to infrastructure and the corruption and everything else in the film, its kinda hard to separate it from what is going on in conflicts today (i can name some specifics, but i won't go there). plus the story is suspenseful and keeps you interested. at least it kept me interested. but its over 2 hours long so watch out. and it is in black and white. and subtitled. sooooo not for everyone.

sidenote: i guess the widespread theatrical version came out in 2003 or 2004. i think they should keep bringing it back to theaters every few years.

now i don't know what to watch. i still want to watch diabolique and dear zachary - but i dunno if i'm in the mood ton. i was going to watch the xfiles season 1 but eric told me it was really scary. i have seen the xfiles before and wasn't scared but it hasn't been since like high school (before i developed this raging anxiety). so i dunno.

WHAT SHOULD I WATCH. i need suggestions.

hmmmm.

the only "horror" i like is like...alfred presents. and other old weird cult classics that aren't exactly scary

I haven't seen that film, sorry.

Out of the other two, though, I'd say that the Proposition is the better film, but if you don't like anything related to westerns than watch Brick.

I just started Spartan. And in the first scene Val Kilmer was in it so naturally I'm close to turning it off... but it got near 7/10 on IMDB so I guess I'll sit through it.

^,^^ Yeah, I do that all the time only I don't even get to the point of starting it. Indecision ftl.
