The company I work for goes through 20-30 9-volt batteries a day or more. I know common practice is to throw them out, but is there somewhere in Raleigh or nearby that I can try to recycle them from now on? Any info is a great help, thanks! 10/20/2009 1:06:17 AM |

You can try Batteries Plus but not sure if they would take them in bulk though. 10/20/2009 7:25:43 AM |

Do they not make rechargeable 9-volts? Now that I think about it the only rechargeable batteries I think I've seen are AA and AAA's. 10/20/2009 9:15:29 AM |

A simple Google search of battery recycling in Wake County yielded this:

batteries are listed. 10/20/2009 10:04:49 AM |

^thanks I'll check that out.
^^we used to use rechargeable batteries but they become unreliable too quickly for the cost difference to be useful. We buy either duracell procell or energizer industrial in bulk. 10/20/2009 6:05:10 PM |

Why so many 9 volt batteries? Sounds like death from too much current. 10/20/2009 6:26:32 PM |

Do you work for some sort of commercial/theatrical audio company? 10/20/2009 6:31:28 PM |

news station. We use wireless lav mics for the anchors/reporters. I run audio among other things and was trying to see if there was something more environmentally friendly then throwing away boxes of 9-volt batteries every week 10/20/2009 6:51:34 PM |

wake county actually has a very extensive recycling program, they will even do free pickup as long as you are a customer
give them a call and arrange a time, or just go drop the batteries off at a recycling center 10/20/2009 8:17:13 PM |
