^^ i remember that toronto game, that was sick.

in person:
2006 Stanley Cup
Jussi's 0.2 second goal

Then any of: State's win in basketball over UNC (isn't it kinda sad that that's all you have to say for people to know what you are talking about), State over BC, Football's win over FSU and watching the whole field rush go down, gator bowl, Canes 6 goals in 12 minutes to overcome a 3-0 deficit in the 3rd period of a game, or canes 3 goals in 46? seconds, the last 2 times we have played UNC in football

on tv:
game 7 NJ, BOS from this year
UConn/State Hodge's game winner
think how much it would have been mentioned if they had finished the deal, but the Tampa ACC Tournament run to eventually run out of gas against UNC in the last 2 minutes was amazing on it's own.

In Person:
-Seeing the Penguins beat the Rangers at Mellon Arena last year and then driving over to watch the Steelers kick the shit out of the Ravens in the AFC Champ game
-Game 3 of the Eastern Conf Final last year at the RBC Center where there were more Pens fans than Canes fans in the upper bowl, and we chanted Canes fans out of the building.
-Game 4 of the Eastern Conf Final when I had glass seats on the goal line at the end where the Pens shot twice.

On TV:
-The Penguins finally winning a Stanley Cup that I can remember. They are my favorite team, and the team I know the most about, from the sport that I've played all my life.
-Super Bowl 40 cause I finally got to see the Steelers win a championship.
-Super Bowl 43 cause it was fucking sweet and James Harrison still can't breathe.

Honorable mention:
-Mario Lemieux returning from retirement in Dec 2000 against the Maple Leafs and scoring a goal and two assists in his first game back.

^^^^ It's a ridiculous stretch, but you shouldn't take the bait.

In person:
Game 7 of the 2006 Stanley Cup Final
Game 4 of the 2009 Quarterfinals (Jokinen goal with .2 seconds left)
2007 NC State basketball over UNC (this is pathetic but it's really the only great thing that happened in the 5 years I was at State)

On television and whatnot:
Game 7 of the 2009 Quarterfinals (Shock at the Rock)
Game 7 of the 2009 Semifinals (Scott Walker late in overtime)
Super Bowl XXXVIII

I feel bad not listing anything from the 2002 Canes but I forced myself to cut it down to 3 each and I wasn't living in Raleigh then nor was I as die hard a Canes fan.

I'm just going on what I saw in the sections around me that game. It would also be a stretch to say that there wasn't a ridiculous amount of Pens fans there. There have been so many displaced Pittsburghers living in this area since the steel mills closed in the 80s, plus it was a Saturday game, so people traveled from the burgh to see it.

I'm not saying the fans weren't loud either. When the RBC Center is sold out, that place is amazing. All I know is that when I watched the game at home on DVR, I could audibly hear us screaming "M-V-P" at the end of the first period and "Caaaaaammm Waaaaaaard" (which I think is fucking retarded) in the third.

You know what, the more I think about it, I'm gonna move this one onto my list and bump off the Super Bowl. That was the greatest and most ridiculous football game I've ever seen. All those damn field goals, and Ricky Manning going nuts with the interceptions. Then that play was just like watching a dream.

I'm nearly positive that X-clown was responsible for my highest vertical ever. I seriously felt about 20 feet off the ground as Smitty was running into the end zone. It's an extra special memory since I was watching it with one of my best friends (who died a couple of years ago) and he said that he had never seen such an awesome game/someone so emotional after a game and because of that, he was going to pull for the Panthers for the rest of the playoffs (he was a Falcons fan). I watched the whole playoff run with him and considered him my lucky charm and since he was my lucky charm, we watched both the NFC Championship game and Super Bowl at his house. SO many memories from that run. RIP buddy

In Person:
1. 1998 - Being at CF as State beat #2 FSU behind Torry and 6 INTs by Weinke. Storming the field, tearing down the goal posts, and trying to carry them down Hillsborough St.

2. Gator Bowl ass kicking of ND. Only State game I've ever been able to take my Dad to.

3. Beating Donovan McNabb and Syracuse a couple of weeks after the FSU game in 98.

I was at a few basketball games that we beat Duke or UNC, but I really can't remember the years so I do not consider them that special.

TV:
1. Sid Bream - hell yeah that still gives me the chills

2. 1995 - Mark Wohlers, Tom Glavine, Dave Justice winning game 6 and the WS for the Braves

3. Jules of Harlem layup to beat UConn to make the Sweet 16.

-GT @ NCSU football 2000. OT win. was hanging on the goal post for about 10 seconds while it came down.
-January 4, 1995 we beat UNC in reynolds. last time we ever beat them there i think. i was a young lad but already had my sights on going to ncsu.

that's all that comes to mind right now. i've seen a few overtime wins with the canes in the RBC as well, those were all fun.

-NC State comeback from 20 down against Wake in '04
-USF upsets #6 Louisville, '05, was trying to get onto the field when I saw a guy get tazered like hell by Raymond James Stadium security and his head hit the ground like a sack of meat on the sidewalk

On TV:
-Hodge shot vs. UConn, '05
-1991 World Series, back when I was a big Braves fan

In person :

1 - My first MNF game, went with my dad to watch the Oilers play in Houston. Don't remember who they played even, but remember my parents got in a huge fight because my mom didn't want me out that late on a school night.

2 - Was at the Daytona 500 that Dale won. At the time probably woudn't have been considered a top sports memory, but in retrospect it turned out to be.

3 - Will throw some love to NC State, the first football game I ever saw in person freshmen year. First college tailgate, great atmosphere, etc.

On TV :

1 - Music City Miracle.

2 - The Oilers collapse against the Buffalo Bills after being up 35-3. That one still makes me sick.

(At least 1 sorta balanced out 2)

3 - Not sure if really sports or not, but I can vividly remember being in middle school where we had TV's in every classroom and the whole school watched the OJ Simpson verdict live. It is amazing how big of a deal that whole thing was, enough to actually stop science class to turn the tv on and watch.
