You could possibly add more cranberries in there and I'd be all for it.

Mom has made this crunchy cranberry-apple dish that has something like an oatmeal crust topping. It's really tart and awesome.

Here's mine:

Knob Creek
Pinor Noir
A variety of Trappist ales
Ahi tuna served poke-style
Assorted veggies

Last year I only had wine, delirium tremens ale and water bc I got sick with strep throat and was too sick to drive to dinner and the above items were the only things that I could actually "eat". Even soups were too painful to eat.

I usually drink one glass of wine every night, but my Florida fam tends to drink all day on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Oh, I guess that's fairly normal, was just concerned with the lack of food to go with the booze.

you're on your own for the tuna, but we'll have the rest of that at the house on Thanksgiving.

^actually, she's referring to the fact that grandma has sorta gona casserole-crazy in the last few years, and for some reason she makes all her meals out of cream of mushroom soup.

but thanks for acting like you know something about my family

as a result of grandma's CoM addiction, we've decided to bring most of the Thanksgiving goodies to her house, so we can prepare them the way we like! without all that casserole-crap.

last year's Christmast dinner was casserole heaven. even the main dish (turkey and stuffing) had been made into a Cream of Mushroom filled casserole. i'm not kidding! it was actually kinda depressing.

luckily there was homemade eggnog (actually, it was more like Rum with a little vanilla in it) and that helped the day move along quite smoothly

my ideal Thanksgiving menu actually involves ham

i absolutely hate turkey (usually) because it's always so dry and you gotta slather it with gravy to make it edible

I will be making orange glazed duck with wild rice stuffing again this year. It's my specialty, and has become a Thanksgiving tradition.

Other than that, homemade macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, corn, and peas are the only other "must haves" in my Thanksgiving.

I am not a fan of sweet potatoes or cranberry sauce, so that shit won't be on the table.

unless it is deep fried, turkey is too dry.

My grandma is literally on e of the best cooks I have ever met. (i know everyone thinks this about their grandma) the makes everything from scratch, straight out of the garden, homemade bread, cake, pie veggies, grape and apple juice, the whole bit. But I even think her turkey is dry, I havent ever had a baked turkey that i thought was more than hardly edible.

I have to agree on the turkey. The only way I like it these days is deep fried. I want to get a turkey fryer, although I would probably never do an actual turkey in it. I want it for wings.

Again, what kind of ghetto ass turkey are you in the habit of eating. My roast turkey is so juicy it almost drips when you serve it. I served it to 30 people last year and they wouldn't shut up about how moist it was

^^ even juicy turkey cooked traditionally is dry to me. It isn't physically dry, it is just hard to swallow, if that makes sense. Fried turkey is just different in that way
