The New York Yankees (110-61) vs the Philidelphia Phillies (100 -71)

The Phillies won the season series 2-1 in May.

Game 1: Wed, Oct 28th - 7:57pm FOX - CC Sabathia Vs. Cliff Lee

Game one should be great. Game two should also be interesting, with Pedro Martinez pitching in Yankee Stadium.

I'm a little biased, cause I am a Yankee fan, but I think New York finishes it in 5 games. The Phillies lineup is lefty heavy and strikes out a lot, and the Yankees will have 3 of the first 4 games started by Sabathia and Pettite, and the other game started by a guy who had 195 K's this year.

Yanks in....6

Philly wins game 3 and 4

Unless CC comes back to pitch game 4 on 3 days rest, which he probably wouldn't unless they're trailing in the series

Anybody But the Phillies. ABP all the way...

Don't want those scummers or their regrettable fans to think they are special. The are the losingest franchise in sports history. 2 titles in 110 years and over 10,000 losses... Fuck 'em.

^^^

The NL East was weak this season and the Phillies won 93 games.

The AL East was the toughest division in baseball and the Yankees won 103 games.

The Yankees out-homered the Phillies 244-224 (and the phillies have a much smaller park).

The phillies best hitters are left-handed. The Yankees best pitchers are left-handed (starters, anyway)

Lidge vs. Rivera....come on.

Not so much delusion as statistical probability.

I hate both these teams.

But I especially hate the city of Philadelphia as a whole.

Go Yankees.

I don't like the Phillies, but I hate the Yankees. But I especially hate Yankee fans. What's the worst thing to happen since the Boston Bandwagon uprising post-2004?

This shit again.

Go Phillies.

And instead of arguing with a bunch of homers of 1 of the 2 most disgusting teams in all of baseball...that's why they play the games. SO, we shall see what happens.

If the Yankees do "miraculously" lose "somehow," then it's ok. Next year they'll need to just spend a little more the 250 million in the offseason!

Weak ass argument. Yeah Yankees stadium may have larger dimensions, but the fucking ball flys out of left field in the new park. How many fucking Derek Jeter and Johnny Damon pop-ups wound up as HRs this year?

In terms of pure power hitting lineup, I think it is pretty even. Utley/Howard/Werth/Ibanez are a potent middle for power that matches up well with Damon/A-Rod/Tex/Matsui. Guys like Jeter and Rollins, Swisher and Feliz are pretty even as well.

Don't act like the Phillies are push overs.

What's so wrong with Philadelphia? Center City is a great area that is very vibrant and filled with history (even though I do hate Market Street). I'll admit that other parts of the city do suck, like the far Northern part. Philadelphia women though do suck. They think they are hotter than they actually are, and aren't as cool as Southern women. I think that some of them have honestly never had someone be genuinely nice to them. They think you have an ulterior motor if you are nice.

Even though I'm living in Philadelphia right now I'm a Yankees fan and have been proudly wearing my hat since the start of the playoffs.

So the Yankees won last night, I'm assuming...
