I know there are very few supporters of women's basketball on here, but it's a new season and a new coach. The Wolfpack Women open tonight at 7pm in Reynolds Coliseum with an exhibition against D-2 opponent the North Greenville Crusaders. Hopefully tonight we can see the beginnings a new fast paced offense lead by Kellie Harper at the helm. GO PACK!!!!

State "wins" 87-44. I know it was against D-2 competition, but that was the fastest and highest scoring game I have seen us play.

Season opener is tonight vs Florida International around 8pm. The Pack is hosting the Sheraton Raleigh Wolfpack Invitational. Game 1 is Vermont vs Western Michigan at 6pm. The invitational will finish tomorrow at 6pm when State plays Vermont or Western Michigan.

Pack beats ODU 62-52. Good road win, especially in front of over 3000 people. 9-15 on FT's, need to work on that. Tia Bell and Marissa Kastanek led the team in scoring with 12 pts each. Pack travels to Nashville for the Vanderbilt Thanksgiving Tourney

The women are back in action today at 2pm against the TCU Horned Frogs. Hopefully the Pack can get back on track after dropping the game against Wisconsin on Thursday.

Pack wins 76-62 improving to 6-3 on the season. The Pack were down early, but fought back to lead by 1 at the half and then made a good run to get up by 10 and the lead basically stayed around that for the rest of the game.

The women were picked to finish in the bottom half of the ACC, but just like the men, you can see a lot of heart and hustle in the way they play. It was big for them to fight back and take the lead, especially after the same thing happened Thursday night against Wisconsin.

Wolfpack Women start ACC play off with a 73-45 win over Maryland. I realize Maryland isnt ranked as they have been the past few years, but I doubt anyone was expecting that. 11-5, 1-0 ACC.

GREAT GAME tonight. That was the best game I have ever seen the women play. Maryland was 12-2 with losses at Mississippi State and Towson. They were in the receiving votes of both polls. I was hoping we could battle for a win, but had no idea we would dominate them like we did. Next two games are at Boston College and FSU. Next home game is Jan 22nd vs Wake. All remaining home game are very likely to be Student Wolfpack Club events.

PACK beat Wake 51-49 on after a Nikitta Gartrell 3 pointer with 15 sec left and an Amber White fade away jumper as time expired. Next game is Monday night at 7pm vs UNC. A strong student showing would be great, so take a break from the Ram Roast Monday night and cheer on the WOLFPACK WOMEN.
