PY 208 Section 402 (instructor TBA)

The reason I asked to begin with is because I've gotten roughly half yes and half no on this. I'm hoping it's no for this class just because the session is at an inconvenient time and rescheduling is not an option for me.

ah. not sure on that one. when I took PY 208, it was 208M&I scale-up so our lab and lecture were one in the same. just guessing by what we did in "lab" yes it is required....

and if anyone reads this, I highly recommend this option, mainly because

1.) no external lab to go to
2.) you go over the material, lecture style and then you do a simple, helpful lab exercise right there with it
3.) the teacher (richards I think) knows how to teach and is a very fair grader

i fucking hated scale up.

all that group bullshit.

just let me go home study my shit and take tests. i had like a 95 test average and a like 30 group/lab average because people would never show up and so much time would be wasted trying to teach dumb motherfuckers the easist shit. everything in that class was an update formula, really not that complicated.

its mandatory only if you want to get credit for tests, because thats what it is. nothing like dry ass physics tests at 8-9 at night. Have fun with this.

I'm guessing you didn't talk to the professor then. when we had worthless group members, the first thing we did was tell said member to step it up. if he/she didn't, then we talked to the professor. within a few weeks, all the worthless kids were in the same group, leaving the productive students in groups together.

^^ So, instead of taking a test during then normal lecture portion, they reserve a 2 hour "problem solving" session once a week? Great. (class is from 7pm-9pm)

Yes i should have done that but i didn't really care.

When it came down to it i was doing fine on tests and generally didn't do webassign hw if it took over 30 minutes. I was one of those kids who would generally rather just use my 10 guesses than try and figure it out so that i could leave class.

not only had i taken an electromagnetic physics in high school i was in ECE 200 at the time which was most of the circuits shit in the class the only thing that was new to me was flux which was taught literally the last week of class and is just a minor extension of MA242

i really really don't get the point of those classes.

If you're going to use any of that shit in your major they're just going to teach you more exact/useful methods anyways so you shouldn't have to take it.

If you aren't then you should be able to take PY108 or wahtever it is for non engineers

I'm taking ECE200 and PY208 next semester. I'm an EE student, but trust me. If I didn't have to take py208, I wouldn't
