You should have said

"Just out of curiousity, how would you guys rank your interest in the following sports organizations"

because that's what your asking.

I love basketball, but hate the NBA and I'm slowly losing interest in NCAA Basketball too.

NBA
NCAA Basketball (but basically only Kentucky and Louisville games)
NFL
MLB
PGA (only the majors, or a higher tier tournament that has Tiger in contention)
ATP/WTA (only the majors)
World Cup
NCAA Football
NHL
MMA

I have zero interest in auto-racing

^ I agree with the retard 100%. Can't stand the NBA, I'll watch starting with the 2nd round of the playoffs. Just have trouble dealing with the amount of traveling that goes on... I mean it is one of the foundations of the game, dribbling. When I see a player catch the ball 18 feet from the basket never dribble and dunk it...

My list would be :

Any football

NCAA basketball
(gap)

Other sports, with UFC climbing quickly

how the fuck is there nothing to talk about? all of the major sports are either going on right now or have just ended. NFL, NBA, NCAAF, NCAAB, NHL, Soccer, Nascar are all in the regular seasons now, MLB, Golf and Tennis are either just ended or winding down

its not like its the middle of summer where there is only baseball on

with that said

NCAAF
NFL
NCAAB
MLB
Hockey/NBA - the playoffs for these two are definitely up there
Soccer
Golf
Nascar
Tennis
X-Games

throw in the non-season sports towards the top of the list too (Olympics, World Cup)

NCAA basketball is way better than the NBA, they actually care about every game in college, titans is right, there are no fundamentals in the NBA, taking more than two steps without dribbling is considered traveling. In the NBA you don't even have to dribble to make a layup once you get to past the free throw line.

If you go to a college basketball game, there will be a much, much better and enthusiastic crowd and atmosphere than a pro game. Its a great experience.

As far as the quality of basketball on the court though, the NBA blows away college ball. Saying there are no fundamentals in the NBA is about as ignorant a comment as you can make about sports. Camping out in the lane for 35 seconds and calling it defense is great and everything, but I prefer watching the best players in the world play basketball, and thats in the NBA. Even though I like the Wolfpack better than any NBA team.

*note: I like college ball better than I like the NBA...but some of yall continue to hold onto your ignorant stereotypes of pro ball

the problem with the nba is that the EXTREME athletic ability takes away from the fundamentals. guys don't need to dribble much inside the 3pt line when one step takes them 5 feet and a jump takes them 6. Its not a college thing its just a freakazoid thing. In college you have less of that so it becomes more about fundamentals and team work. In women's you have even less so it becomes more about fundamentals and team work. In WNBA you have the fundamentals everywhere but athletic ability on defense severely outweighs athletic ability of offense so it is the most team work oriented basketball league.

I prefer nba to wnba not because its better basketball but just because its an incredible display of individual athleticism (ie stars like kobe, wade, bron, paul dominating) No other sport has that.

I agree with the part about great athleticism changing the style of play so that good fundamental basketball isn't as obvious.

But the whole "WNBA players are more fundamentally sound" thing is another ignorant stereotype (or misconception, if you prefer)

Since when is bricking a layup, getting an o-board, bricking the putback, getting an o-board, and bricking yet another layup an example of fundamentals?

Don't confuse good basketball fundamentals with "no dunks".

thats defense. This happens in all walks of basketball. Theres better fundamentals because theres less explosiveness to combat the defense.

[Edited on November 11, 2009 at 11:29 PM. Reason : no palming or taking off in stride from far distance for the dunk]

NCAA Bball
NCAA Football
MLB (used to be #1, dropped way down in the past 10 years but back up b/c my cousin is in the Mariners org and we try to stay in touch)
NHL (I admit to being fairweather though)
NBA (used to be #2, but much less since the Hornets left)
NFL (as go the Redskins, so goes me)
Soccer (really should watch more, but I have to have a team to care about or I don't care. It's easier at World Cup time because I have no reason to like an MLS team and I don't know which Premiere or Serie A or whatever team to like)

Everything else is pretty irrelevant to me.

the only time i've ever watched the wnba for more than 5 seconds was when i made a pick on espn's streak for the cash, and the game was easily accessible (i think on espn2)

in the 8-10 minutes i watched, i saw a player miss a fast break layup, miss the putback, and miss the putback again, before a teammate got the rebound, missed the layup, but was fouled and went to the line

its unwatchable

^^alright so one play on an 8-10 minute time frame represents the entire league and everything it stands for. solid sports logic.
