my parody is awesome and funny although its not biologically totally accurate
11/19/2009 1:56:14 AM
no sir it is not
11/19/2009 1:57:54 AM
thread does not deliver as promised
11/19/2009 1:59:30 AM
One would have to think that different whale species took up most of the list. That said, I approve of your parody.
11/19/2009 2:23:42 AM
i wanna know the real list
11/19/2009 2:26:11 AM
If Grumpy approves of my parody, then I am happy. I know the blue whale is the biggest animal on earth, the polar bear is the largest land predator, the elephant is the largest land mammal, so on and so forth.
11/19/2009 1:07:30 PM
Thread mostly delivers. 8/10, well executed.
11/19/2009 1:08:00 PM
I try

[FAIL]
11/19/2009 1:09:25 PM
Its funny cause the R was removed in the title
11/19/2009 1:13:09 PM
I'd fathom to say the Kodiak bear is the largest land predator, not the polar bear. And where's your love for largest sea predator, the Sperm Whale?

Thread mostly delivers. 8/10, well executed. GG.(I love animals, especially record-breaking ones, so I especially like this thread)If you count only land animals, my educated guess says, in no particular order: African elephantAsian elephantPolar bearGrizzly bearRhinocerosHippopotamusElandAfrican buffaloAsian buffaloAmerican buffalo (Bison)If only one type of buffalo is chosen and one type of elephant, other candidates:MooseGiraffeCamel (heavier of the two types)African lionSiberian TigerHorse, some type (but wild only)(largest by mass, of course, and only wild animals, so no cows, which are a lot of times heavier than any bear)

apparently between a Polar bear and a Kodiak bear (sub-sect of Brown bear) it's a toss up. largest on record for both is within 10lbs. 2210bs for polar bear, 2200lbs for kodiak.
11/19/2009 1:34:22 PM
i didn't know we were considering only predators.
11/19/2009 1:36:35 PM
if it were only whales then i think whales would take up all of the 10: blue, sperm, humpback, fin, orca etcwhale shark is the largest fish i believe[Edited on November 19, 2009 at 1:42 PM. Reason : .]

We're not, I'm just saying. Plus you mentioned Grizzley bear. So replace grizzley with kodiak!
11/19/2009 1:40:02 PM
i think on average polar bears are bigger than kodiaks
11/19/2009 1:40:54 PM
The 10 biggest animals are almost certainly all blue whales
11/19/2009 1:49:11 PM
^^^ Gotcha.Forgot to say...ELEPHANT SEALThose mofos are massive.
