Nice. I thought I'd get a lot more perfect days (we win, UNC loses) from the football season, but the football gods were having none of that.. Nice to see a perfect sports day can still be had from time to time.

Perfect days are awesome.

I also enjoy perfect weekends. In recent memory, I recall only one in basketball. The cold opening Saturday of February 2007, State took down Chapel Hill. The next day, Duke fell to Florida State in a one-point loss.

It was the best weekend of my life.

Winning is great. Us winning and them losing? The greatest!

Not sure why that was a "preseason game" but an entire thread about UNC losing is pretty lame.

yeah Chapel Hill are going to lose at least 8 games this year. We should enjoy it this season cause they are loaded next year.

^agree to an extent but they are going to be relying on freshmen next year just like this year

Obviously Henson, Strickland, McDonald, and the Wears have turned out (at least early) to not be so reliable. They were very highly rated (number two class behind Kentucky). What makes us think the freshmen they have coming in next year will be any better?

Roy's shotgun approach to recruiting has backfired on him IMO.

And they will only be returning these overrated freshmen next year. Ginyard and Thompson will definitely be gone (their two best players) and perhaps Davis as well to the NBA.

I am not completely sold that they will be SO good next year that they will be unbeatable. Not unless some of these freshmen improve A TON.

at the end of the day, to be a great team you must have great guard play. No matter how much their bigs improve they need one of those 2010 guards to be special right away and then they'll be great.

Roy is an excellent coach and these young playes are going to be much better by the end of this season and especially by next year. Poo-pooing on UNC based on a loss to a good Syracuse team is premature. Look at how much better Felton and Lawson improved in their time with Roy. These other young guards are going to improve significantly as well.

Roy's good at developing and recruiting talent for sure, but he's an awful in-game coach.

Roy is the worst coach on the planet at using timeouts.

This is undeniable.

^That's what I was getting at. He didn't take a TO until 12:40 remaining in the 2nd half, after his team had been outscored 18-1.

he actually got better at that last year following the kansas debacle, but i guess he's trying to make the young guys play through their mistakes so far. i would imagine if january-february rolls around and they're still committing 20 turnovers a game, then he'll be more generous with them

then there are the losers that post these threads.

I would rather have had UNC win. Fuck UNC. Fuck Calimari and Wall more.
