Quote :
"THE BEST OF THE WORST OLD DOGS REVIEWS

(These are real quotes from actual reviews)

Kids who suffer from progeria may be able to relate to Old Dogs, but it’s hard to imagine anyone else fully appreciating it.

Director Walt Becker can’t even pull off hits to the groin (you know they’re coming in a movie like this) with as much panache as an episode of America’s Funniest Home Videos.

Old Dogs does to the screen what old dogs do to the carpet. It’s unfortunate that only the latter can be taken out and shot.

As if to compensate, “Old Dogs” continually cuts away from Williams’ antics to “cute” reaction shots from an actual old dog. That’s a really bad sign for a movie

The timing of the comic set-ups is consistently amateurish, as if scenes were edited with hedge clippers, with the actors mugging frantically, waiting for the take to end.

Old Dogs doesn’t just roll over and play dead, it is in fact lifeless.

Travolta, who delivers an impressively enthusiastic performance, seems to have no idea that he’s stuck in one of the year’s worst movies. The perpetually pained expression on Williams’ face, however, suggests he knows otherwise.

THEN SIMPLY….

…this dog deserves to be put down"

like i said there were many parts of this that were very cheesy and unfunny, like when seth was being held by the gorilla,

yet it still was very enjoyable and had many fun parts,
the theater was laughing the whole time and everyone was saying they liked it when they were leaving

that is the review that counts

yeah that scene with Seth Green singing Air Supply is one of the funniest things I've ever seen

I'll make sure to see this movie multiple times in the theater and then buy the dvd and blu ray the day it comes out

Shut up.

Crowds as a whole love almost every movie.

That doesn't make it good.

what movies have you been going to,
most crowds do not give good reviews at theaters, either they give bad or none at all
its rare to see a movie full of people with glowing reviews as they leave

Are you fucking with me?

Go to ANY two bit comedy and the crowd is almost always laughing hysterically at every shit sandwich joke. See: You Don't Mess With The Zohan.

im not saying there will not be laughter at comedy
every comedy that makes it to theaters should elicit some laughter,
but bad movies usually do not have people saying that it was great and almost uninimously
i've worked at movie theaters for countless weeks, i know what im talking about

ok so let me get this straight
you are saying that even bad movies have the crowds talking very positively about it as they leave the theater?
im saying that only good movies have this sort of reaction, its the type of reaction that leads to good worth of mouth and you'll see old dogs doing well in the box office

bad movies dont have this happen to them, so lets just let the box office decide

granted there are not too many movies released next week, old dogs will hold or gain in its position on the box office

That is absolutely what I'm saying, you've nailed it. Do you think crowds were leaving New Moon saying "FUCK, THAT MOVIE SUCKED."?

new moon is for 12 yr old girls, and if they say its good then im sure other 12 yr old girls will like it
but from what i've heard many older people did not like it so that disproves your theory

the only people who talk crap about old dogs are critics who are paid to be negative and people who never saw the movie

so yea, we'll wait on the box office results

yes, it is surely a conspiracy by all movie reviewers (even the no name ones) to bad mouth Old Dogs. the audience is way too smart to believe that the maker of "Wild Hogs" could make a bad movie...

btw, Wild Hogs, Old Dogs... i think he needs to make a movie about Frogs next.

That doesn't disprove shit.

Tyler Perry films are for black people. I doubt people that choose to go see it are going to hate it.

Doesn't. Make. It. Good.

It's all about target audience. And Old Dogs's target audience does not care about actual objective quality, which DOES exist, as elitist as that might make me sound.

lafta, are you saying that you stood by the exit of the theatre and conducted an exit poll? because you seem so sure that you heard everyone (ALMOST UNINIMOUSLY [sic]) laughing it up as you left.
