in DHHill 2nd floor - above the learning commons in the Assembly Room - turn right after you get out of that elevator in the commons. 4p, Dec 8th

For those who missed the Haunted Tour - here's your chance to get in on the NC State trivia. Anything specific you think would be good for me to cover?

If you've been on a tour with me, what's something I should talk about that you would like to revisit?

hmm, I think that's something the libraries might do. I'll propose that! good idea.

From the other thread:

Covering things like, but not limited to:
Holladay Hall Cemetery
Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1917 on campus in the Infirmiry where folks died.
Pullen Hall Fire of 1965
Watauga Hall Fire of 1901
Tompkins Hall Mill Fire of 1914
The real cornerstone of State College (it's not in a building)
1911 Dormitory Barracks - when NCSU was a military school
Brooks Hall (Old DHHill) Special plan
Freemasons Involvement in Campus Design and masonic cornerstones and the All Seeing Eye
Why UNC and NCSU are rivals. (It has nothing to do with sports)
Why we buried our old well and where it is located.
Historic Remnants of old Campus Dorms and Classroom Buildings
The old Courtyard Creek

I'd love to hear some history of the Court of Carolina, Thompkins Hall, and a history of Steam tunnel related occurrences, if we have any. History of utilities services on campus, why we use all bricks so fucking much (I don't know if the old story is true), et cetera.

Hey Matt...thanks so much for the lecture. It was really, really informative and really interesting. Definitely learned a lot of new and cool facts about N.C. State. I really recommend everyone checking it out when it becomes available online. I am definitely interested in learning more about the history of this place. I am a huge history buff and that was really awesome. Thanks again Matt.

^ Room was about 90-95% full for most of the presentation. Some people trickled out at about the 7/8 mark (around 5ish).

Wait, did you TA D231 two years ago?

Ah ha! It all makes sense. I remember you used to give us lectures about the history of the campus and kept telling us about the belltower.

i wish - that's all i've seen at this point. Maybe someone nice can convert it for us (and make it way smaller).

and Spontaneous, yeah, this is it. my last hurrah before walking across the stage for the 3rd time. bwahhaha.

but

I love giving tours of cool shit around campus, so if there's a group thats interested, holler, and we will make it happen. it's worth it to see some of the things I talk about in the lecture IRL

Is this ever going to be on youtube or are we stuck with that communist propaganda tool itunes?

I mean, I will download itunes if that's the only way to watch this, but I'd rather avoid it. I am highly interested, though.
