The first one was fun as hell to play. I only rented it and beat it in like 2 weeks though.

^ same. It's on my to-do list, but I'm just having too much fun with left 4 dead 2 at the moment.

While I loooooved the first game, I'm extremely skeptical that the sequel will be any good. It's developed by a different studio and the lead design of BioShock 1 and System Shock 2, Ken Levine, has nothing to do with this game. So I dunno...........but hopefully my expectations can be blown to shit when I eventually do play this.

I'm still completely convinced this game is going to be turd. I hope I'm wrong.

I just don't even see how there could be a sequel. Well, actually, I take that back. After reading about the premise of the game, it seems like something that a game could be made out of. 10 years pass, Rapture is still full of scientific treasures galore, somebody is kidnapping girls to create Adam....whatever. I just don't see how it could possibly top the first. BioShock 1 had one of the most complete storylines I've ever seen in a game. While this is indeed BioShock 2, I just don't see how it could possibly have anything to do with the first one outside of the gameplay. Storywise, it might as well be an entirely different game in my mind. Hell, the guy who even created and wrote the story for the first game has nothing to do with this game whatsoever. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong because I looooooooved the first game. I'm sure the gameplay will be a blast with all of the new shit they are adding, but I can't help but feel like the storyline, in conjunction with having the BioShock label, will ultimately degrade from the game and keep it from propelling into greatness that the first game achieved.

I finished BioShock 1 a few weeks ago, after longing to play for quite some time. I'm pretty sure BioShock 2 will bring some badassery. However, if it doesn't, the obligatory BS3? will not be a part of my agenda.

i just beat the first one and it was quite awesome. looking forward to #2 a lot. apparently your a big daddy in this one? wonder if they're going to do that annoying screen contortion where you're looking out of the helmet.

Not that matters much to most people, but the guy who wrote the original score did the score for the second.

It looks good, and I have Faith. Looking forward to the Big Sister.

There are rumors that you get to bang a Big Sister in the game.

coming out tomorrow, i was never any good at the first one but i played through the campaign on easy because the story was great. i'm pretty sure i'll suck it up big time in multiplayer but whatever, i love motif of the series, so i'm betting single player will be a blast again.

the one thing i hated about the first bioshock was hacking. that got old real fast so I hope they replaced it or revamped it somehow.

if they have invite stuff for multiplayer, my psn id is gilbertssyndrome

^^They replaced it with a new system. A needle swings back and forth and you try and land it between two bars. The difficulty is changed by the width of the bars and the speed of the needle. You can hack remotely too with a new dart gun upgrade.

I'm thrilled about the sequel, but I'm still in the middle of Mass Effect 2, and my copy of Borderlands has gotten dusty in neglect from the all the attention Shepard and his crew have gotten. I'll still pick up my pre-order tomorrow though.

If the reviews on this are good then I'll pick up a copy in what looks like a few months . Still working my way through my first playthrough of Mass Effect 2, and I'm wary of all the development team changes.

I liked hacking because it was exactly like that old school "Pipe Dream" game that came on old Windows computers but it did get pretty annoying.

Multiplayer is fun, fun, fun!

You get to hack turrets and vending machines to hurt the other team and take pictures of their dead bodies for extra damage on them later in the match. Each game earn you ADAM depending on how well you do and that levels you up giving you access to better weapons and plasmids.

My first impression after 30 minutes isn't that favorable.

Please tell me you take the helmet off at some point. It's way too much of a distraction and takes up too much screen real estate.

Oops. Just saw the option, I was looking under graphics before. Still doesn't seem to capture that same atmosphere as the first one, which was the only thing it had going for it. The graphics for this one don't seem to be as good as the first either, but maybe that's because the first looked better when compared to other games that were out at the time while this one simply looks about average when compared to current games.

I know graphics aren't everything, but if you've got a game that offers essentially the same gameplay but has better graphics, then why not play that one instead. For me that game is Bioshock 1. So far I'm really not seeing anything new and compelling. It's like I've picked up part 1 after not having played it in a few years, started on some random save game I had, and noticed that the game didn't age all that well... but I've just started out. Hopefully it will pick up.

^Might be just me. I dunno. Remember the opening sequence from the first one? It was 'whoa, what is this place?' and then you have to take on that very first crazy dude. It set the tone.

This one just tosses you into the fray, no build up, and the enemies in the first few rooms didn't have any character. Maybe this one lacks because the whole running around laughing thing was kinda done to death in the first one. Maybe it lacks because my first impression was, damn I'm out of gas from the playing around I did before I saw that there was a meter.

So far a big fat meh for the SP campaign.

No, I definitely agree on the tone in the first one being a big deal.

Just can't believe that it's gone in the second.
