his knee came down after being pushed. yes he slid but he clearly lost his balance from the push. a QB is down if he slides feet first...he tried but the push made him go forward.

a QB can voluntarily take a knee from the line and the play is down...why does it not count here?

i dont think the jersey grab cause him to lose his footing, but i thought that even if you were touched before going down, it was supposed to be a downed play

ground can't cause a fumble when down by contact...a slip or slide forward counts as a fumble.

but i still stand by it that he only went forward BECAUSE of the contact

the rule is "down by contact". the contact must force the player to the ground, and the ground can cause a fumble if the player isn't down by contact.

still, no matter who you are, falling on the ground without getting hit shouldn't cause the ball to squirt out

It wasn't a push, it was a gentle tug of the shirt and he took like 5+ more steps before he dove and dropped the ball, untouched. I suppose if the defense farts on you and then you run for 20 yards and drop the ball, you would feel the same way?
