I think it'll be Ingram, but it's kind of funny. Colt McCoy lands the Walter Camp(player), Maxwell(offensive player), and O'Brien(QB) awards, and then Gerhart lands the Doak Walker(RB) award, so how could Ingram be the Heisman winner if he wasn't the best offensive player or best RB in college football?

By that logic, it should be McCoy or Gerhart. I'd love to see Gerhart get it, I was happy to see him win win the Walker.

But Ingram is on the best team in the nation, he's their best offensive weapon, and he played against much better competition than McCoy and had a better season.

Suh would have won if any one of the following occured:



A) he blocks that field goal and Nebraska beats Texas

B) Nebraska has any semblance of an offense and wins 10 or 11 games and goes to a BCS game

C) Richardson or Upchurch break that 60 yard screen pass run vs Florida and Ingram has a ho hum game with no big highlights





I think its possible for a pure defensive player to win, but it has to be a perfect storm where he's on a top 5 team, there are no great quarterbacks or running backs, and he has his best games on the biggest stage

The fact that this was suppose to be the "Best Heisman Race" ever with Bradford, Tebow and McCoy all coming back won't help Suh's case...I'm going to be most pissed with the voters who give McCoy the "Career Acheivement" award and vote for him based on 2006-2009, not just 2009

he had a great game against every good team and good defense he faced except the auburn game where he was injured. he sat out more than half the games against teams they were killin/cupcakes so his stats couldnt get run up.
