I need one to make a fire barrel out of, so it does not matter if it leaks or has holes. You'd think they would be easier to come by, but I can't figure out where to buy one from. 12/15/2009 9:58:52 AM |

AAA at avent ferry. Ask if they have one you can have. They may have one available if they haven't taken it to the dump/scrap yard yet. 12/15/2009 4:51:58 PM |

Would it be worth calling around to oil change places? I thought maybe they got their oil in 55 gal. drums and then just discarded them when they were empty. 12/15/2009 5:28:52 PM |

Do you mean like the trash barrels at local parks? I believe that is where the homeless find them

I'd think it's something more along the lines of larceny than vandalism 12/16/2009 2:50:03 PM |

I had a friend pick up two empty oil barrels from a local quick lube place a couple years back. They just had them sitting there and said take them. 12/16/2009 8:45:42 PM |

Got one from a guy on craigslist named Dave. He sells about 1,000 of them every year. He has a trash hauling business and he picks them out, cuts the slots for airflow, and sells them for $12. Smart guy. 12/17/2009 11:21:50 PM |
