I don't understand why NBA dunks always dominate top plays lists. They don't seem to be that hard or impressive unless a guy straight up jumps over another. Soccer barely gets any love yet almost every goal seems like a tougher accomplishment than the dunks that show up on Sports Center's top 10 every night.

Endless figure skating

Speed skating: 25m, 50m, 75m, 100m, 150m, 200m, 400m, 1600m, 200m relay, 400m relay, 1600m relay, etc., etc. etc., and all their various qualifying rounds.

To make it worse they just repeat the same 3 hours of programming so watching from 11:00PM - 2:00AM is the same as 8:00PM -11:00PM.

its not a question fo whether i can do it...i can't score against the top goalies in the world or hit a triple to the wall of Yankee Stadium either.


i'm just saying that when you compare the most impressive plays across all professional sports, dunks are incredibly overrated. how many dunks happen in a single NBA game vs the average number of goals total scored in any soccer or hockey game? A diving or over the wall catch in baseball is more impressive than a free style dunk.
