now i can see keane and giggs being criticized but IMO you have to have a holding midfielder in today's game and i cant think of a better player to fit that mold than Keano as he is a beast in the midfield plus he will's his teams on to win more than anyone ive ever seen play the game. giggs is the most questionable but he fits my formation the best and he is one of the greatest left wingers of all time.

you do know cannavaro won a world player of the year right???(he basically won the world cup for them in 2006 with his brilliant defending) and clearly you did not watch that link. batigol scored a stupid amount of goals in the very defensive serie a and internationally...56 goals in 78 games for argentina....that is a crazy ratio in a harder era than pele ever played.

as far as highlights go, i'll take a maradone or baggio highlights anyday over batistuta
and based on world cup performance batistuta comes in a distant 4th
although he was good in '90 and '94 theres really no comparison to the other guys

batistuta couldnt carry argentin like the other guys carried their teams
w/ maradon he reached the finals in '90, in '94 with maradona out most of world cup they were out in 2nd round

if i wanted someone who was tricky on the ball and could finish i would take cristiano ronaldo over maradona since CR is the total package player. but since hes not on the list i couldnt pick him. two play against another world class team setup that would be different than mine you would need hoss strikers. so i chose ronaldo and batistuta.


please....with baggio. he can airmail his PK right off that list. there was another brazilian striker back in the day who was great i thought but wasnt on this list...cant remember his name though..



maradona fucked argentina in 1994 with that doping shit. in 1998 argentina went out to holland...you should take a look at that holland team, they shouldve won the world cup with that team. argentina were knocked out late in that game i believe on one of the greatest goals of all time by bergkamp



and im not even arguing play based solely on world cup performance, else giggs shouldnt even be on this list since he never even played in a world cup. im not entirely sure what the creator of this wanted to go by exactly.

as far as baggio, you give me one other player who has single handedly taken his team so far.
this is pretty much undesputed.
if you look at his team the majority of them came off the bench cause of injuries yet still baggio continued to score, virtually on his own and take his team to the finals.
all the other greats had a great supporting cast, baggio did it basically on his own.
and he missed the pk cause he had a hamstring injury.
plus his performance in '90 alone makes him a legend.
batistuta has never had a great showing at the world cup. all you've got are excuses for why he failed when he didnt have maradona to save the day for him.

baggio had every excuse to fail but didnt.

and i cant believe you say you'd have c. ronaldo over maradona, thats is just ludicrous.
ronaldo has gotten better but he will never be considered as one of the all time greats. he's played with a great team all this time and benefits from them. when he had a chance with a very good portugal team he failed to make it to the final.

To say that Cristiano Ronaldo will never be one of the all time greats is ludicrous. He has already accomplished more things at 24 than almost every player ever.

I was going to say too, im almost positive Pele was not a striker. He was like Ronaldinho, an attacking mid who roams around.
