kid yelling "so we can rEPORT ur ass"SO TUFF
12/20/2009 11:14:35 AM
clearly racism is behind this, they wouldn't have cared if he pulled the gun if he wasn't black
12/20/2009 11:17:04 AM
Was it wrong for this officer to pull out his weapon, yes. But c'mon folks, cut the police some slack. He's only human and made a mistake. As long as he didn't point his weapon at someone and threaten them then I'm willing to forgive this officer.

i've given up on being outraged at "the system". you really can't fight city hall.
12/20/2009 11:35:10 AM
I mean if he accidentally discharged his weapon and shot someone we should forgive him. He's human and it was only a mistake.
12/20/2009 11:39:52 AM
Clearly the officer was at fault. But if you're so concerned with the law then you could also argue that those who pelted the officer with snowballs could be charge with interferring with a police officer. It was a bad situation. I'm not apologizing for the officer. Only that I hope cooler heads prevail.
12/20/2009 11:52:25 AM
"interfering with a police officer", huh?dudeman needs his job taken away. the end[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 11:53 AM. Reason : asdf]
12/20/2009 11:53:28 AM
He was off duty. How would they even know he was a cop? I assume he was in his personal vehicle...Bunch of grown adults pelting random cars with snow balls probably deserve to get their ass kicked though...[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 12:03 PM. Reason : x]
12/20/2009 12:02:32 PM
^^^Look at how warped your thinking is. "It was a bad situation" -- no, it was a snowball fight. "Interfering with police business" -- what business? Going to the dreadnought shop? His business was so important he had time to stop and harass people in a snowball fight. Never mind that he was undercover so there is no way for anyone to know he was a cop, in the first place. You are grasping at straws.Any normal person, one who isn't a thug used to abusing his power, knows what to do when they see a snowball fight. People are so used to giving cops power and cops are so used to abusing it that you think this is remotely excusable.[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 12:04 PM. Reason : .]
12/20/2009 12:04:11 PM
Nothing said he was off-duty. It said he was an undercover officer, aka plain clothes. And i am pretty sure that you can't legally throw things at passing cars. If that's not the case, then dirt clods are gonna be flying on western today!
12/20/2009 12:06:30 PM
oh it was the uniformed cop was the one who pulled the gun.im still can't tell if that makes any differenceyeah because dirt clods are just as harmless as snowballs. use your fucking think-machine[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 12:08 PM. Reason : asdf]
12/20/2009 12:08:02 PM
He was still wrong to pull the gun. The people pelting cars with snowballs still deserve an ass-beating, though.I've been hit by both dirt clods and snowballs. A well-made snowball still fucking hurts and can still do damage to a car. I've done it.[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 12:10 PM. Reason : thinking cap ON!]
12/20/2009 12:09:02 PM
lol here we go. this needs to go to the soapbox since it's already degrading into who knows what whom "deserves"
12/20/2009 12:10:56 PM
I don't thrown shit at other peoples' cars. It's called respecting their fucking property. If you throw shit at someone's car/house/girlfriend (yeah i just called girlfriends property in a roundabout way), you should get punched in the face.I would expect nothing less to happen to me should I start throwing shit at the property of others. If you are going to organize a huge snowball fight, do it in a park or plaza or some shit where you aren't gonna start hitting innocent bystanders.

12/20/2009 12:17:39 PM
I've started off both my posts by saying the officer WAS AT FAULT.
12/20/2009 12:18:46 PM
they get a punch to the face, he gets a steel-toe to the taint... that make everyone happy here?

agreed. my assumption that he was at fault was assuming the reports were true. But after reading more about the event it appears as though he may not have pulled out his sidearm at all. Hard to tell because all the eyewitness have conflicting reports.
12/20/2009 12:29:11 PM
i offically don't care anymore... shit happens.you kids try not to get shot!
12/20/2009 12:31:25 PM
on a side note. he looks like the black dude from die hard 2. Coincidence?
12/20/2009 12:35:06 PM

^^ sonofabitch I was about to post that But really, "millions"???? What was the biggest DC event in 2009? Not the inauguration, not the gay rights parade or the tea-baggers, but a Twitter snowball fight.Yay.And yes, the officer massively overreacted by pulling a gun.[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 1:59 PM. Reason : don't bring a snowball to a gunfight]
12/20/2009 1:57:42 PM
snowball fighting = douchebaggerygot it
12/20/2009 1:58:50 PM
^ Pretty much
12/20/2009 2:02:02 PM
This all could have been prevented if we allowed concealed snowball carry.
12/20/2009 2:22:58 PM
it was stupid on all accounts (pulling a gun and hitting a car with snowballs). the cop should be fairly punished and then be let on his merry way. no need to fire the guy.
12/20/2009 2:31:57 PM
