I really think the key to this game is Gonzalez, if he can play most of the game I think we pull this one out...if not Mays is going to get punked by Wise. Smith developed pretty well i'd say... he was about the same ranking as Howell comming into college I believe. Still took him a while, given we had clear starters ahead of him and he came in with JJ Hickson.

Last I saw him play an ACC team he was consistently missing layups and fouling out with 5 minutes to go in the game. Generally speaking, he was playing fundamentally unsound basketball

True, but I would say that's 1 game out of the last 20 some in which he's pretty much averaged a double double (End of last year and this year - when he really started getting play time).

Given he's undersized for a big man as well, especially against Wake's front Court.

Hello! We're not making the tourney this year folks! We can't shoot (3pt, FTs or even layups). Our defense is weak. We can't rebound. I admire our team for fighting every night especially since they'll be outmanned just about every game going forward. But none of our guys are legit starters on say UNC or Duke. NONE! Don't get me wrong, I will pull for them until my last breath but we're just short on talent this year, which will show itself and further frustrate our team. I do enjoy watching this team more than I did the previous two years where we actually had the talent (Costner, Fells, McCauley) but never had the heart. But lets not kid ourselves. Finishing above .500 would be a success with this team.

your memory is correct. i admit i was whining quite a bit but i really wasnt targeting anyone, certainly not you, with any of my comments. i was simply upset because of how poorly our team was playing in a game they could have easily won and i needed to vent a little.
