This site used to be for a star wars mod for Homeworld 2, Star Wars Warlords. I even mistook the new name as a rename of the Homeworld 2 mod. It never worked right because the game wasnt built to handle the insane numbers of turrets and units that the starwars universe required to be implemented into the game.
Now this group jumped over to Sins of a Solar Empire found here

The mod being here also

Now I have not played Sins of a Solar Empire, but by looking at some you tube reviews and game play it looks interesting. NOT NEARLY as detailed as home world 2. But that was the flaw with home world 2, it was too detailed to have any large engagements and became unstable. But it looks like Sins actually provides a platform for the epic scale that was never achieved in the Homeworld 2 mod Star Wars: Warlords.
Note some of these pictures are the mods beta.
Should I look into getting Sins of a Solar Empire? 12/28/2009 9:14:49 PM |

Sins of a Solar Empire is pretty fun, if time consuming. I've seen games go upwards of 6 or 8 hours. There's no real single player game, just skirmishes, so you better like playing online games or doing random missions a lot.
That Star Wars mod definitely looks cool though, I may have to reinstall the game to give it a shot. 12/28/2009 9:20:39 PM |

A 6 hour multi player game?
How does that work if you have to take a break? 12/28/2009 9:32:56 PM |

IIRC, you can pause and save games in progress. 12/28/2009 10:10:50 PM |

I'm a big fan a Sins of a Solar Empire, but, in my opinion, very few of the mods of this nature are in a finished and playable state. 12/29/2009 4:18:43 PM |

Whats the main way to expand your fleet capacity?
Colonize a new planet? 12/30/2009 7:13:48 PM |

^ Essentially. It's a tiered research line where each step is unlockable depending on the total number of lab structures you have. Each planet can only support a finite number of structures. Thus, to hit the cap you have to expand. Once you're fully fortified in this game you're really hard to dig out if you can park your fleet on a choke point planet. 12/31/2009 2:47:01 AM |

I am assuming the only multi-player is by direct connection and there isnt any kind of browser for multi-player games. 1/2/2010 1:13:22 PM |
