the old threads were dated and i didn't want to post in the season 5 thread.

I just started watching this show because Best Buy had the seasons on sale. I picked up 1 and 2. I put in season 1 last night after watching Season one of BSG earlier in the week.

All I can say is wow, this show is so much fun to watch. I don't what it is, the drama and comedy are in such a perfect balance. It took me 1 day to finish season 1...i just couldn't stop watching. I'll probably wrap up season 2 by weekend's end since i'm off work.

I never gave this show a chance when it first came on back in 05...I just wasn't sure what it really was all about but now i'm hooked. Who else loves this show?

lock

just post in the season 5 thread guy

no reason to start a trend where people just start watching a show and have to create their own thread for latecomers.

The first couple of seasons are great. It falls off a good bit after that.

yeah, one of the best shows of the decade, and perhaps the most under appreciated. After finishing some of the early seasons, I would sit back and marvel at how good it was - the acting, drama, comedy, everything.

This last season picked back up to nearly the early-season qualities. It was expanded to 22 episodes, so it did drag a bit and some of the plotlines either didn't make sense, or just came and went for no reason. But the main plot (the drama around Tommy and his fucked up family) was as good as ever. And, it had a hell of an ending - looking fwd to S6 big time.

listen man, there are tons of reasons to start a thread about something instead of posting into a thread seasons into its plotline. Maybe i don't want to hear spoilers, maybe i want no involvement into the characters advancements 5 seasons into the series. I mean, why the fuck not have an appreciation thread? Looking at your posts regarding the series its been nothing but single word dribble and generic comments regarding the story. Sorry rwoody, but you've barely brought anything to the previous threads so you have no reason to say anything. If you've seen every episode then congratulations, i applaud you for finding a show that's amazing and below the radar. Other than that, kiss off...either contribute or blow off.

The first few seasons were amazing. It helped me get over a breakup back in the day. I recently watched season 5 and I was dissapointed. Enjoy the first few seasons because they start running out of ideas.

yeah, i've tried not to read ahead on wikipedia or anything but i did see a list of some of the guest stars the show has in its later seasons and it seems like the stories do get out there.

as long as it doesn't take the kind of dive that Nip/Tuck took i'll be ok.

Be prepared for the letdown.

I think Season 3 is where is starts going downhill and it goes pretty quickly.

no it doesn't.....
it's a drop in quality and it waffles up and down for a couple seasons, but S5 picked it back up a lot. They're all still good or very good

You fockers should be watching this show. Season 6 has been great so far. Still gritty as hell with incredibly funny writing. First 5 seasons are all on Netflix instant watch fwiw.

i'm OCD about incomplete sets. discographies, film trilogies, dvd seasons, anything like that. I can't have just half of something. As soon as i finish True Blood season 2 i'll start back. Rescue Me and BSG.

I hear you, but from a money stand point it makes sense. I just watched the entire fifth season for under ten bucks. As well as the other movies, tv shows, etc .. that come with the subscription.

Think the season's been much better so far this year than it has been the last couple seasons.

Tommy is acting much more like he used to but it still bugs me how much of a pussy he turns into around Sheila and some other people if he doesn't happen to be pissed off at them.

Last season ended great when Tommy locked her up on the bed and tossed all her pills. Now all of a sudden he's her bitch again because she points out that she could have pulled the plug on him while he was in the hospital? Give me a fucking break.
