Because Philip represents our university moreso than any other current professional athlete. If the Chargers win the Super Bowl, Rivers will likely be the one who led the way and get a hell of a lot of face time. Even if the Cards or Jets win, neither Wilson or Cotch are going to get a huge amount of credit unless they make some James Harrison or Santonio Holmes type plays.

Nevertheless if the Chargers do lose, then yeah I'll be rooting the Cards and Jets as secondary teams. Hopefully it'll be the Chargers versus the Cards for the title.

Chargers

I consider myself a Chargers fan but besides them I have a positive bias towards the cardinals and the Vikings (not because of Farve but my dad was a Vikings fan before the panthers). Besides the cardinals and vikings I also consider myself to have a "positive bias" but not a fan of the bears, 49ers, and Broncos.

Worst case I'd easily root for GB or Eagles that i consider myself neutral rather then have any team from NY (the Jets), the saints, or those cheating fags from NE win.

I am not a fan of the cardinals or vikings but would merely pull for them over another team which I have no opinion for like the Bengals, or do not like like the Saints, or hate like the cowboys.

^^^ Tony Doresett, Ed Too Tall Jones and Bill Bates (Tennessee) were my favorite players growing up on my favorite team. Of course my older brother liked them when they were good in the 70s, when I was old enough to pay attention is when they started sucking ass until the early 90s.

Also hatred of the Redskins and 49ers helped (my first football memory was The Catch)
