Just bought a refurb battery for my car $28. Parents recommended it, they've bought several batteries from there for trucks and other cars all $28. The sell marine batteries too for a bit more. The one i bought had 600Amps and another my parents told tale of had 800Amps. Of course this place is not nearby but in Sanford NC. Anybody know a great place in Raleigh, Cary, or Durham where I can get this same/similar deal. Oh yeah it has a 1yr free replacement warranty. No other warranty though. 1/7/2010 8:27:22 PM |

Interstate in Garner sells them for about that, $35 or so if I remember. Great if you just need a regular top post. I don't keep my junk long enough to justify the purchase of a new battery...though I have gone through 2 on the motorcycle already.

Probably not, but you could call them. It's a warehouse. 1/7/2010 9:11:09 PM |

my brother bought a couple of outdated "seconds" for one of our tractors at the exide plant outside of Raleigh for 35 dollars each. They turned out to be good batteries. 1/8/2010 1:31:38 AM |

go to the exide dist in clayton, behind the rental place on Powahatan rd. on thursdays from 1-4. $28 batteries, bring a core. They are batteries that have set on a shelf too long but have never been run. I think its a great deal, I bought 5 including two 1100 cca gel batteries, the bigger ones cost a little more. I dont know how cool it would be for a first line vehicle, we used them in tractors and shit. 1/12/2010 7:45:46 PM |

My 685 CCA isn't cutting it up here in Chicago, I would love to find an 850+ CCA battery on the cheap but will probably just get a new one the first time it gets too cold to start this year. The only time it didnt start last year was when we had a -20 degree day, that shit was brutal, but it cranked right up that weekend when it warmed up to the brisk single digits. 1/12/2010 11:24:58 PM |

^^try the sears platinum. i think it's diehard brand or something. it's just a optima with a different color case and different stickers. you'll pay dearly for it, but the dakota turns over like never before since i put one in. i could tell a huge difference the first time i cranked it up after putting it in. has a long warranty too. 1/13/2010 6:04:56 PM |

^ you almost got that right- but not sure how it is relevant to the thread.
Most Sears auto centers carry the Group 31 Diehard Platinum, which is a rebranded Odyssey P2150C (IIRC). If you can fit a 31, then it's a great choice at $100 cheaper than the actual Odyssey version but still, it runs $190. Also, it weighs 80-85 lbs and the lazy Sears employees won't pick it up for you. 1/17/2010 5:09:06 PM |
