Vampire flick that opened today, is anyone else going to check this out?

Obviously it doesn't look like some great work of art that will live on forever, but IMO it looks like it could be a fun vampire flick.

The directors made a lesser known australian zombie movie a few years back, Undead which, especially considering it only had a 1 million dollar budget, i thought was pretty good and entertaining. With that in mind i'm interested to see what they've done with a real budget and a couple big name actors, and will be checking this new movie out.

Well, it's riding the recent vampire craze and the critics all seem to think that it's shit. I don't think that I'll be seeing it.

I liked it.
I wish it could be remade by a director with talent, though. Maybe a spanish version by Alfonso Cuaron? I think Hollywood owes us that much considering how many foreign horror movies they've desecrated.

Actually, it's not. They started working on it immediately after they finished "Undead" so like 2003ish. The Spill guys gave it a Full Price so it might be worth checking out.

Yeah I've heard that this is decent, from a source that I respect. I'll probably see it tomorrow.

the 4 of us that saw it all enjoyed it. hardly the worst movie ever...

if you like horror-ish movies, i'd go for it. there was a good number of cheeseball lines though.

I'd say more thriller-ish than horror-ish. And I'd say thriller-ish is generous, its not that tense of a movie.

Might see this. Has a 64% on rotten tomatoes. Not bad for a sci-fi vampire flick.

Meh. A little disappointed. They show all the creepy/scary vampires in the previews, and they're barely in the movie. Was looking to be more of a horror movie, and it turned out to have more of a story. Might have been okay had I been expecting that. I wanted a scary vampire movie, and I didn't get it.
