No, I mean, I understand that the movie is going to me remade, I just don't understand why they would do this.

Who is going to be annoying enough to play Mattie Ross?

when i first heard this, i just didn't get it and hated the idea. But having thought about it some more, I'd really like to see the Coen brothers' take on it. I'm not sold on Bridges as Rooster though.

My guess is that this will be more aligned with the book than the first movie.

Pretty much my take on it. I have faith in Bridges, but hard-asses aren't his best role (though I liked Last American Hero).

I fully expect to see Sam Elliot in there somewhere

Teaser trailer has been released. Looks pretty good for an early teaser. I have a soft spot in my heart for the original but i am definitely looking forward to seeing this.

trailer looks pretty good. seems to be in-line with what i expected from them (a grittier take on grit) - which I really like the idea of.

Big fan of the first one. I'm normally not in favor of remakes, but this looks good.

yes. 1968 book, 1969 movie, 2010 remake.

I'm interested to see Damon as La Boeuf.

Was a pretty good flick. The dialogue is superb. And is based more on the book than the original film.

Seeing it at 8:25 at crossroads. It looks pretty amazing, and it better be because if they mess up a John Wayne remake I'm never watching another Coen brothers film.

It was pretty good. Definitely not the Coens' best, but, I mean, that's a high bar to jump over. Performances were great all around.

man I haven't seen this movie yet and I have nothing against it but imdb is so flooded with young fanboys that it's top rating system is becoming useless, pretty much any new movie by certain people automatically gets 5000 people giving 10/10

Thought it was worth seeing in theaters.

I couldn't tell if the dialog was the way it was in order for accuracy of the period, or just written that way to be interesting by itself.

Not talking about roosters character of course.

Solid flick. Pretty much exactly what I was expecting. Like spookyjon said, not the Coens' best, but a well-made, enjoyable film.

Agreed.

Best movie I've seen this year though. Only real critique is that, from the time Mattie falls into the hole through when we see her as a grown woman seems off-tempo from the rest of the movie.

I'm going to eat my words on this one. Fact is, Bridges > Wayne (at least in this role).

I must go see this.

that being said, I think that this has been a very good movie year so far for me. Inception, Black Swan and the Town were all very enjoyable.

I usually hate every movie that I go to see.

Yeah, I think that young woman has a long career in front of her. Not bad to have your first movie directed by arguably the best directors working.
